Hi, I had somthing traumatic that happened to me a year and half ago, long story short I was robbed and beaten up, I have been told by a nurse I'm suffering from anxiety and panic disorder... But I don't want to take medication for it, I suffer everyday from it, the dizziness and disorientation, but I'm like it everyday from when I wake up to when I go to sleep none stop, can someone please give me advice as I'm really struggling and can reach out to a doctor because of the Covid-19 pandemic... This is really getting me down, I can't cope

I have a few techniques that would hopefully help! What helps me is grounding. You sit down with your feet flat on the floor. You think about what you can see, what you last ate, what you can smell, what you can hear, and what you can touch. This helps bring me back down to earth. Try deep breathing. Breathe in through your nose but breathe with your stomach if that makes sense. Your stomach should feel like a balloon inflating. Then breathe out slowly through your mouth. These help me. Hopefully they’ll help you out too!

Thanks for the advice mate, can I ask what your symptoms are, because I get really bad breathing, aches arms and body etc, is this normal?

Yes, my symptoms depend on how big my anxiety attack is. It does feel like it’s hard to breathe, I get shaky, my heart rate increases. I feel really hot like I need fresh air or something. Sometimes I get like dizzy and feel restless. Like my leg would be shaking or I feel like pacing around in my room. My hands get sweaty. It all depends on how big my anxiety attack is to be honest.
