More and Better are typically thought of as positive when they are used together. But I’ve found a way to turn them into negatives. As in everywhere that I think I’m falling short in recovering from depression and achieving wellness. For example:
I should be meditating more and better
I should be exercising more and better
I should be volunteering more and better
I should be sleeping more and better
etc……..
So maybe the trick is leaving out the “should”. “Should” almost never makes me feel good. Having to do things more and better means I’m not good enough as I am. When I finally know and really believe that I am good enough right now —-as is——I’ll be able to smile and laugh more and better.
I’ll close with a question..When’s the last time that you laughed…..REALLY laughed?

It's such a tightrope, isn't it? Motivating yourself to change, especially when you know you're not doing enough. Avoiding beating yourself up and giving up. Hard for me too. I think perfectionism is in there somewhere, fowling 🦆 🐓 🐤things up.
I saw the 4 things you put on your list. Sleep is number 1 , 7-8 hours of sleep each night. Excercise number 2.. 45 minutes of daily cardio exercise to produce endorphins that battle your anxiety and depression. Meditation number 3.. volunteer number 4.. your no good to anyone else if you can’t take care of yourself..,1-2 are taking care of you..3 is too .. but if feel better with sleep and exercise.. I meditate better after sleep and daily cardio exercise. Volunteer is great but it’s got to be prioritized.
