Sleep disturbances in medications

Hello! I’ve been on several different meds for anxiety/depression and a common factor of them all is vivid dreaming leaving me feeling exhausted the next day. Has anyone had similar issues and found something that works? I’m a little mad because my psychiatrist sold me on mirtazapine, which I’m currently taking, saying it “helps sleep” and I read that it improves REM sleep but now I’m finding it causes the same vivid dreams! I’ve also tried celexa, pristiq, Wellbutrin, Luvox, Prozac, all with the same issues. Ready to quit meds altogether or at least go lower on dose (I’m only taking 15mg which is lowest therapeutic dose or so I’m told).

Keep experimenting with the psychiatrist and find the formula that works for you. Have you tried Trazadone?

Hello ! I have tried trazadone a few times and it made me feel like I had a hangover. I don’t think it affected my dreams though so may be worth another shot , possibly lower dose. Do you take it?

Hello, appears you have taken a variety of medications. Before you were on any of them, including the antidepressants and anxiety meds, were you an avid dreamer? Realistic dreams that are remembered can make one feel as if he is exhausted.

Hello thanks for the reply! I did have vivid dreams prior to taking meds but only occasionally, maybe 1-2x a month. Now I have them almost every night.
