Hello there and welcome! I was taking Effexor for years but I was wanting to see if I could add on another medication to boost my mood. I started Wellbutrin a month ago, but per the doctor, stop taking Effexor. I don't feel any different, unless results need to take more time, I don't know. Then again, my body is trying to adjust from years of Effexor. However, I'm going back to Effexor, because I get somewhat better results. I'm letting my doctor know and if you have a primary care physician, don't be afraid to speak up. (Well, I have social anxiety, so what do I know, lol). But, I was afraid to speak up for a long time but realized , how can our doctor treat us , if they don't know what we need? One of my co workers a couple years ago said she was taking Wellbutrin and worked great for her. I guess just depends on our own unique bodies. I hope you find what works for you! 🤗

Hi. A new medication can take about six weeks to know if it is working for you. If it's only been about a month it might be too soon to decide if it's working.

Hi there. This is good to know! Thank you. My last appt. with my Dr. said it should be working by now, which confused me. Then trying to just stop Effexor was too much of a shock to my body. I'll ask the doctor to see if I can just take both. How do you feel in the morning after you take Wellbutrin? I'm sorry you're not having the best of days today, me either. There's days where I literally can't get out of bed. We'll have a new day tomorrow 🙏❤️

There was a time several years ago when my doctor was, at my request, changing my medication. He said I had to stop the first one completely. There was no weaning process or transition. I went through a horrible withdrawal. See if you create a transition plan. I generally feel pretty good after I take Wellbutrin but I have to take it in the morning or it interferes with my sleep. I wish you well.

I take Wellbutrin in the morning and a low dose of Prozac at night. I take these for depression and it is mostly well managed I still have difficult days (like today :( .) Each body is totally unique and what works for one may not work for another. Sometimes it can take several trials to find what works for you and it generally takes about 6 weeks of the new regimen to know if it is working as it should. Best wishes.
