Good afternoon. I wish to talk about Jigsaws and how so many people enjoy the endless challenge of looking at a mishmash of pieces and trying to make a picture. Recently since lockdown and having the unavailability to shop in most high street stores or charity shops I Googled if you could do an online version and found several sites which give you the opportunity to do a jigsaw, set how many pieces you wish the jigsaw to be, plus the great thing with these apps is that you can pause at any time for a cup of tea, start the clock again and resume but this clock is only your guidance as to how long it takes you to complete each jigsaw. When you are done a loud congratulatory noise comes on and you are given more jigsaws of the same or you can simply put into the search which topic of jigsaw you wish to do and go from there,
It really is fun and passes the time away really good and I have found this good for lowering the blood pressure and calming the nerves down. it also gets you use to looking at so many shapes and pieces at any one time which is good training for me as I love to hunt for beach glass finding rare and beautiful colours just like the piece that is my Avatar image. That was found on the famous Seaham Beach North East UK.
I hope some of you will also give this a try as my day now without completing a few jigsaws is not the same. Give it a go...enjoy x
Did you ever see Wallowa’s bird jigsaws on PWB, I was just thinking the other day that I miss them. I always used to look forward to doing them and I know others must miss them too. I’ve just looked and they are on jigsawplanet. 🙂
I love to do jigsaws. I actually have three new ones that I purchased throughout the pandemic that I haven’t gotten to yet, was planning on beginning one today. I do them online as well, but it’s just not the same feeling as actually fitting the pieces together!
The problem I always found with jigsaws is that the space they take up, you have to do them on a board or a table and run the risk of a piece being missing, especially if you buy second hand. I do like handling the pieces though but online puzzles give you the freedom of choice and also takes up no space and you can set your own goals and targets so it suits me fine, I have a few puzzles in the loft that I can do. 👍
I know what you mean. I do them on cork-board so I can move them around, but if they take too long I get tired of looking at them sitting around. I try to stick to 1000 pieces or less for that reason.
you have 1000 piece settings online but I like to do 100 piece ones which take around 40mins to do and then I begin competing myself against the clock which they have and a finished bell comes on. you can do so much to spice things up making it as hard or easy as you choose as different days bring on different mood swings and abilities I find. this way you can do exactly what you wish to do at your own pace and you also have a pause button and a save button so you set it to your own abilities. 👍
