25th June I took my mom, dad and brother out for lunch. 4 days later when I spoke to her, she was coughing a lot. The next day she went to the doctor and 2 days later she tested positive. Now my dad and brother ain't feeling well either. I went for my test today, and not only must my family isolate but me too. I feel guilty, as if it was my fault that they got sick. I am really worried about them. I struggle to deal with this, they are so dear to me. To deal with depression I usually exercise,but I am also not a little well. I worry and miss them a lot. I hope they make a very quick recovery! This isn't your fault. They could have picked it up some place else. Maybe you could get groceries delivered to their house so you know they have food.

Not everyone is vaccinated. Vaccination also does not prevent you from getting COVID or passing it to someone else. It lessens the possibility the CDC says. Plus this is a new variant and they are still finding out about how it spreads and how the vaccines work against it.

My 52 year old perfectly healthy brother was on ventilator at Hopkins for 12 weeks- please get your vaccine. And the antibodies from Covid are very weak compared to the vaccine. Vaccine is stronger protection. After sleeping in a chair in the Hopkins ICU for months- these are the facts. Just trying to help you

I am vaccinated, have been fully since April, but I have some friends who are not. One of them is my best friend. I could not convince her or them, as it is everyone's personal choice what they decide to do and I could not bring myself to judge them for their decision. I am sorry about what your brother experienced and your family experienced. It sounds like your brother recovered and I am so glad for that.

I agree with you. I also think if people knew of some real stories of young people they may think differently. The problem is that most people will still run out of oxygen even with a ventilator. The ventilator cannot push the oxygen through the Covid gunk in the lungs

I live in New Jersey, a very densely populated area and have had many people I know get COVID prior to the vaccines being rolled out. Some got really, really sick for weeks in and out of hospitals. Getting the vaccine I felt was necessary for me.

Isolation isn’t fun for sure and it’s worse if you’re already struggling with depression. What about FaceTimeing with them?

It's not your fault they got sick, you all made the choice to go out. This new Delta variant is 70% more infectious and many, including those with both jabs because this bug is more aggressive and more immune to all the vaccines to date, more people will get sick with this nationwide re-opening. It's up to the individual at this point as to what precautions they wish to take because too many refused or won't, so this thing never died down, it's possible it will get worse. It’s one thing to make the choice not to get vaccinated, but then that person could be a super spreader and infect others, that’s just selfish. Try your best to just be there for your family and take care of yourself.

It sounds like your family will be fine. Take some deep breathes and know that you are not the cause and you are sending them love. That's what counts, so just know they are received your love and they love you.

There is no need to feel guilty. It could have been carried by anyone at any time. I think it takes more than 4 days to show symptoms. You need to stay positive and keep them thinking positive. Send over some silly jokes or memes. Order them some favorite food for delivery. When you talk to them, talk about other topics. Do a bad hair day or silly hat day video chat.
