Weekend depression

As the 3 day weekend moves forward, my depression and anxiety gets worse. I don't really have anyone to talk to. So loneliness and despair are my companion s. Psychiatry visit in 2.5 weeks. Just want this crushing feeling to go away.

If you are unable to feel better this weekend and don't have a closer dr.appointment just let it be. I have had too long a time treatment resistant (DOES NOT mean that you are ) and really don't know why I'm here. This probably makes you feel worse, I apologize i guess I'm saying that getting meds right is a blessing and if you think that meds are an ssue you can look forward to feeling better. You will have better times ahead.

I understand this all too well. Weekends are the worst for me, well now everyday is but when I was working with my anxiety and depression barely making it through it still kept my mind and day occupied until the weekends. If I did not have plans or could not get together with family/friends I would get antsy and depressed. Every minute feels like an hour to me. I try to keep busy as much as possible and I do something that can sort of calm me, like walking/playing with my dog, cleaning, listening to music, reading, crossword puzzles, watching a movie. It is very hard and I pray you will find some peace this weekend.

Weekends are difficult for me too, and I suspect for a lot of people--especially the 3 day ones.

I am doing the best I can but have no support network yet. It's a long wait for a psych/therapy appt. Just trying to tolerate it.

Do you find yourself unable to leave the house?

Could you go for a walk, perhaps to a park, or just somewhere that you could see folk doing their own daily things, Smile at someone, say Hi.

If you feel invisible, find a way to be noticed. I wear silly teeshirts, and often they will raise a smile, or even a comment from a passer by.

Could you take yourself to a coffee shop? You might see someone you know.

Cheers, Midori

So sorry you are feeling this way, communicate on here with us. Play some music you like, color in a coloring book, or draw a picture 😇

Good advice. I will try something to occupy the time.

You are welcome, it helps to force yourself to switch gears and keep your mind busy with enjoyable activities, I like to bake, and planting flowers is instant gratification 🥰

I don't bake but had a garden last year.
