Separation Anxiety

I remember my good boy Einstein had separation anxiety, Long before mental problems in me didn’t exist.

I had no idea how to help him. I read some articles on how to helps dogs with Severe separation anxiety but wasn’t sure if I was doing it right. I really tried my best and I’m sure he still has it now.

Now I know how my poor boy feels with anxiety and me and him are here for each other.

I just wished I’d understand anxiety more back then to help him.

This is a picture I took of him today 😁

Morning Alfreddy7. Have you tried an anxiety vest for Einstein? I haven’t had the need to try one because I don’t have a dog, but the mechanics of it makes sense to me. Einstein looks like a sweet dog. German Shepard? I grew up with one. My best friend. ❤️🏄‍♀️

Hi Isinatra

I’ve tried the Vest before but didn’t really work.

He is much better now. He doesn’t cry as much when we leave the house and doesn’t destroy anything like he used to.

I love German Shepherds

This is my 3rd one since I was a kid.

I’m glad to hear that Einstein is settling down a bit. I guess he has figured out that you’ll always come home eventually. German Shepherds are smart like that.❤️🏄‍♀️

From what I seen in your post is Bella is of age already. If she has Separation Anxiety is best now if you are always with you.

It will benefit you both

Hi Bobbi,

Try to lay down with Bella for a few minutes. Even if you fall asleep it’s ok.

The muffin did not cause the panic attack. I’m sure it helped you instead. It got some nutrients in you. Cause I know myself how hard it is to eat when in Panic.

I know you’ve been like this for a couple of months now. Actually since I joined this forum and it has been a while.

Now the panic comes from you thinking something is going to happen to you if I’m not correct.

But it’s been months like this and you are still fine. Even with all that panic in you.

You have to eliminate the fear of fear. I know it’s hard at first but you have to try.

Remember it’s been months and you are totally fine. Nothing to fear.

Einstein is a beautiful dog and you can tell by his face that he is very sensitive.

What an absolutely gorgeous dog. He's lovely. I've had a dobi with separation anxiety and had to have my daughter stay with her so I could go out. Looking back she was neurotic but I loved her to bits and it broke my heart when she passed.

Wasn't going to get another dog but, guess what, there was an older dobi in kennels very unhappy. Well cassie is mine now and she has fitted into my life like an old slipper.

My husband passed 8 years ago so I am on my own and what a help and blessing this dog has been during lockdown.

On the subject of doggy anxiety tried adaptil and anxiety vest- neither worked but it sounds as if you and Einstein have worked things out.

Don't worry about what you think you didn't sort out in the past. The important time is now!

Your dog loves you unconditionally.

Best wishes and take care xx
