Thank you for reaching out .Yes I had a medical reason to quit. I went through every single path of hell. It took 3 years to be almost ok. But I'm not totally ok yet...so it's often so hard for me to be patient to be waiting.
Thanks I'm good. Sorry you've had such bad experiences. I can relate.. It takes time and "juggling " to find the combination or even single med that is most effective. That's the reason there a soo many different meds for the various diagnoses, That and we all react differently to the meds. It can be a struggle and a pain in the butt as well. That's why it's important for us to be assertive and ask any and all questions(about our meds) no matter how smart or dumb they seem .
Thank you for reaching out again. I've never tried lots of psychotropic meds. I just stayed with one antidepressant for a long time till it damaged my health. I'm a medical professional and knows negative effects of psychotropic meds well. I reinstated a different SSRI a year and a half later after withdrawal (PAWS) started that doesn't affect my health. I'm doing so much better but not ok yet. I don't know how I went through all hellish time....it was really a hell.
There are boards dedicated to coming off SSRI's, SNRI's and benzos.
A Google search of 'forum coming off antidepressants' should yield some results.
When I tapered off Celexa and Buspar they were really helpful and encouraging. They can be a bit overwhelming with their lists of protracted side-effects. The danger there, in my opinion, is getting 'scripted' into a side-effect when you may not have experienced it prior to reading about it. On the other hand, it can verify that you are not alone and what you're experiencing has been experienced by others.
Why did you get off Buspar? Is there withdrawal symptoms from it? I've been on it many years for my anxiety with no side effects nor any problems. I call it my miracle drug because I don't have any problems with anxiety and I don't worry about anything. I say whatever happens, happens.
Buspar simply made me tired. I took it at night, but sometimes I work at night and that was becoming an issue.
I tapered of it and had issues throughout: lack of sleep and flu-like symptoms. Those are gone now. I also took it for a number of years with no issues other than sleepiness.
Work was what got in the way. I drive a long distance so it was becoming dangerous.
Are you sure that it wasn't the celexa that caused these problems? It's possible. Did you taper off both of these medicines at the same time? Buspar has never caused me to be sleepy and I take 30 mg twice a day. I have done this for years and I'm on it because I used to worry constantly until I'd make myself sick. No more worrying for me about anything.
