i was just watching tik tok and my tears fell while I am watching those perfect girls and wishing I look like them .
insecure about myself : i was just... - Anxiety and Depre...
insecure about myself
I feel you, but please try not to succumb to the pressures of 'ideal' body image. Social media is trash and it's so easy to compare our lives to the tiny glimpse of someone else's life that we see on these sites or apps. And remember, there is nothing 'perfect' about anybody!
I hope you're okay though 🐱
I understand those feelings a little because I have felt similarly in the past.
I’m 34 now and I realize that I am lucky I don’t look like them. No one sees those “perfect” girls as anything except for decoration. No one sees their kindness or their intelligence.
I have substance and depth. I work hard. I’m kind. I enjoy analyzing concepts. I’m a good mom. I’m a good teacher. I’m a good wife. I’m a good friend.
A lot of those “perfect” girls secretly wish people saw them as more than sex objects...they wish they had the happy family I have. I see the way they look at happy women with their husband and babies. Those perfect girls are worried they’ll never have a happy family.
I don’t have to panic if I have a beauty crisis. If I get some stretch marks, varicose veins, freckles, or wrinkles, who cares? It does not diminish my value one bit.
I don’t have to worry about my husband leaving me when I no longer look “perfect” or cheating on me. He fell in love with ME not a “perfect” girl.
I’m not perfect but I’m better than that. I am invaluable. I am imperfect. I am irreplaceable. And let’s face it: I’m pretty awesome!
you are Amazing thank you so much this is makes me feel better I wish you the best ❤💕💕💕
A long time ago(im 37), when I was maybe early 20s, i made a decision to never join any social media accounts with what you said being one of the main reasons- so i dont fall into the trap of envying others or wishing I was different than how God wanted ME to be... physically and otherwise.
A few weeks ago, I joined this group. This is the first "social media" account i have ever been a part of.
I will never join tiktok, facebook, IG, etc etc. Speaking from that, it is one of the best decisions ive ever made
I encourage you to think about that- by not being a part of those sites, you dont even have to worry about wishing you were like those other people..
God made you how you are because you are unique and He didnt want you to look like others or be perfect (none of us are), and he made you just how he wanted you.
🌹🌹🌹🌹❤️❤️❤️❤️
I appreciate your words, thank you, have a happy day
Head up....it is all by design to sell stuff to you to make you feel better. Our corporate overlords know this.
I am tall, athletic, and chiseled and I still have mental illness and insecurities on the daily.
Watch some David goggins videos
Instead perhaps for positive stimuli instead of twerking
Without all the layers of make up and the great mobile cameras, lighting etc they use these days these girls are probably not so perfect. Plus I often wonder if they ever eat a proper full meal. And do they have the energy to do anything if they don't eat properly and think of all the damage they are doing to their body. Avoid going on to social media and watching all those things. Don't put yourself through that ❤
Try to avoid social media. It is mostly filled with people bragging about themselves and pretending they have a wonderful, glamorous life. In reality, these people probably do not have such a wonderful life at all. If they did, they would not have time to be on social media so much, nor would they have much interest in constant bragging.
Advirtising media (which is what social media is) is like an abuser it says we are never enough untill we do what it wants us to do. It wants us to buy stuff and makes us want that by making us feel that we arnt enough. It's extremly insidious and manipulative and if the media were an indivdual person we would all condem its behavoir. That we don't do this says alot about of the collective insecurity that humanity carries with it. The girls you see are not perfect, because perfection doesnt exist. It's the lie that it uses to make you feel bad. Everyone has good things about them, your good enough just as you are.
On social media people show you what they want you to see - a glimpse, snapshot, “filters” used to make them look so “perfect”. They’ll tell you about their edited lives to make themselves look ideal / perfect. On TikTok, many are paid as “social influencers” - ie to advertise their clothes, make up, shoes, sports gear….. paid to portray the brand’s image. Please don’t think of the people you’re seeing in any way as perfect - nobody is.
Choose how You want to look, be, etc - by all means look at the advertisers on social media & elsewhere, but you are yourself - no need to compare yourself to them.
Hi @ imesmaa...Hey beautiful young lady, you are enough just as you are! You don't need to compare yourself with anyone because you are uniquely and wonderfully made by God.Do remember that what people post on social media is a curated put together version to gain follower, so please don't let that affect how feel about yourself. Sending you much hugs )))
Thanks a lot, you are really nice. You made my day💕💕
