I've been through more than my share of trauma because of life issues as well. I grew up in an alcoholic home and lots of things to deal with from that, plus other issues. I have depression, anxiety, bipolar, borderline personality disorder plus PTSD. I've just started going to alanon and it is great. I've been planning to go to adult children of alcoholics on the net but something keeps coming up. I've tried many therapists through the years but they can't help unless they've been through what we've been through. I don't know what your past traumas are but there is help for some of them. I could be a therapist because of all I've been through. If you want to talk, message me.

Dear 2Grandmar,

Thank you for sharing! I am so sorry you're experiencing so many bad things! Unfortunately, we do experience traumas and it can take some time to get complete healing and wholeness. But it is always very important to get help and I am very glad that you have a counselor! When I was experiencing symptoms of PTSD, I had to get all the help necessary because I was suffering intensely. Not all therapists were helpful and compassionate, but I knew that I needed to get help and kept trying to get better. I learned about a very helpful program called Celebrate Recovery and decided to attend their meetings every week and continued getting therapy and taking medications. There are many people who have the same problems you do. I believe that we have to do what is necessary to get healing, even if it takes a long time to get it. I am sorry that things are so hard for you! Walking outside regularly can help us a lot physically and mentally and I hope that you are able to do it. I also hope that you can find out whether there is a church nearby that has Celebrate Recovery. May God bless you a lot every day!

I'm sorry you're in this spot. I happen to feel the same way. It feels like it'll never go away. It's just so unfair and I hate it. 😢
