Hi does anyone know much about trauma or trauma work?

I’ve been having flashbacks over the past few days to situations that I’ve forgotten until now. And I’ve totally fallen apart.

Trauma happens when something bad has happened to you, either growing up or now.

I’m not sure if what happened is considered trauma.

I went to a doctor a few years ago. I was in a very vulnerable place emotionally and he took advantage. I keep telling myself maybe his exam was normal and I just am making it a big deal?

Breast. But I was not there to see him for that though.

Did he ask you to see your Breast? Did he say anything why he needs to look at your Breast?

No. He didn’t ask. Just told me to undress. And didn’t let me cover up at all.

That is not normal at all, that isn't allowed. That is considered a trauma because he took advantage of you, I honestly think too that you have PTSD from your Trauma I am so sorry you went through that and that is not okay, no doctor should of ever did that to you. I highly recommend seeing a therapist they can help you with your Trauma and anything your going through.

No, it was not normal. You are not just making it a big deal. If you didn't mention pain or any complaint of discomfort in the breasts, what would justify his examining you in this way?

Only you can make the decision whether or not to make a formal complaint, or to put the experience behind you. If you decide not to bring a complaint now, you can always rethink in the future.

You could consider talking to someone about this in confidence. You could look up how to make a complaint of historical abuse.
