How does your head feel when you’re having a panic attack or anxiety?

My head feels stuffy or like it’s gonna explode. I feel spacey. Like I’m gonna have a seizure or something.

Hi anonleo, my head use to feel just like yours when I would experience a panic attack

or being extremely anxious. It feels like this because all the muscles in the head clamp

down tight. This includes your jaws, ears and even eye muscles. You're not going to have a seizure. You need to find methods to relax those muscles which can reduce that feeling as well as making sure you are keeping hydrated. :) xx

I sit and tell myself it’s going to be fine but I feel like I go in and out of it. Like my head is swimming.

I’ll look up some ways to learn how to do that. I hope you’re doing well, friend. x

Yes, I use to get that as well, like my head was swimming. When in the midst of an anxiety attack many things happen within the body that can cause these feelings (all of them nonlife threatening. Blood pressure rises for a short time, muscles get tight, adrenaline pours out producing this swimming feeling.

Once I started using Meditation and proper Breathing techniques my anxiety symptoms disappeared. I had better control of my symptoms as well as emotions. My "go to" is YouTube in finding different tools and methods. If you need help finding some videos let me know. It's going to be okay. :) xx

Did you feel nauseous or dizzy when moving your head around afterwards? 😩

I could use some extra videos. Lately I’ve just been recognizing cycles and discovering triggers.

I never felt nauseated but did feel dizzy when moving my head. Many times it was helped by drinking a bottle of water which can help flush out the toxins in your body,

hydrate you which will bring your pressure down. That's good that you are recognizing cycles and discovering triggers. Overcoming anxiety must come first in finding the root of the panic and fears (which you are doing)

Once you find the root of the problem, you can work on it or learn to live with it.

It depends if the situation can be changed.

Have you taken a look at Dr. Claire Weekes videos on YouTube? The theory of Acceptance of anxiety is known world wide and is a good stepping stone for you

in going forward.

We all react differently to helpful methods. There is no right or wrong, whatever brings you peace of mind is what you need to practice daily. We can't wait until we are in the midst of an anxiety/panic attack and then try to bring ourselves down from it. The better you are trained, the faster you can stop an attack from happening.

It takes time but it's well worth the results. :) xx

Agora1 is spot on! Great writing and communication. I had all the symptoms she's talking about and more. Those little dizzy feelings will be around even close to your recovery don't worry about it man they will fade let time pass. 😉 I even went to the eye doctor and had my eyes checked for proper alignment cuz they were aching Non-Stop. Adrenaline and cortisol released by your nervous body affect everything from your toenails to the tip of your head. Get doctor weeks book hope and help for your nerves it will speed up your recovery greatly best of luck mate!

I knew his name sounded familiar The minute I saw his face I realized I have

listened to many of his videos. He's interesting, he's not book learned but experience

it himself and he has a great presentation.

I hope others take a look on YouTube.

Thanks Timepass :) xx

When my anxiety hits me, my mind feels like it’s racing. It’s like when you hear a computer spinning for no reason but it’s doing something in the background. Feels very similar and I feel a rush of energy that I need to release. My head doesn’t hurt much except that I feel very jittery and uncomfortable because it’s processing too much information. Walking at a high pace usually takes care of it. I think everyone is affected differently. Would wish to have a cure.

Sometimes I feel this way. I feel like my mind and emotions are rushing but my body is calm

Yes, you explained it best. Your emotions come rushing out. Sometimes frustration comes out, fear, or sadness. Makes me feel Like crying 😭 most of the time.

This is exactly how I’ve been feeling lately. Whenever I’m anxious I feel foggy, crazy head pressure like my brain is about to explode and like I’m about to have a seizure or a stroke or something. I was wondering if others have experienced this from anxiety too.

It feels so strong. 😩😩 like you’re about to lose it. I feel it!

in reply to anonleo

It really does! I feel it right now too. Like my head is about to snap and I’m about to lose control. And I’ve been experiencing brain zaps & a little vertigo here and there as well

I really feel like I can feel it building up too before it happens. Like I’ll feel weird all day until it happens. I just force myself to get up and move around or watching tik tok really helps me.

in reply to anonleo

Same here. I’ve been feeling it all day and just tried to keep busy to distract myself from it. Laying down and doing nothing is probably what you want to do because you don’t feel good but it makes the anxiety much worse.

Hi, thankfully mine have stopped. When I did have them the room felt closed in like I was in a box and the lid was closing in. I felt like there wasn't enough space around me. We have a huge garden I would go into it and feel like it still wasn't enough space.
