Medical marijuana. Also, watching re-runs of The Twilight Zone. Something about black and white TV calms me.

I don’t think I can get medical marijuana I don’t have insurance but I wish 😅. Are u watching the old school twilight zone or the new version?

in reply toSocial_Awk_Cookie

I thought you didn’t need insurance for marijuana just need a license that cost $100+ to get at the dispensary

I’m from the US so I’m not certain about how getting medical marijuana works

in reply toSocial_Awk_Cookie

I live in America too and got a 2 year license for $125. I would go on line and look up dispensary close by and give them a call. Most stay open late and are glad to help. I was using Marijuana for my anxiety but don’t feel the need for it once I got my medication straightened out. Hope this helps

I'm in the US too. Each state is different, but we have a list of "qualifying conditions" and if you have one, you have to go to the doc and get them to sign your application. First time is usually more expensive, but not $125+ (unless your condition is PTSD, because that's just a catchall). However, I'm not sure insurance covers it. I actually don't have a card, but my roommate does. It's for his sleep apnea, but he always buys the stuff made for insomnia, depression and anxiety. Different terpenes have different qualities. And, OLD SCHOOL Twilight Zone. Got to be black and white. Wish I could get The Cosmos with Carl Sagan narrating. There is literally nothing better to fall asleep to.

I just put lotion on and used a vagus nerve oil by osea while meditating and let my head get lost in the clouds. Tea. Movies.

Is the vagus nerve oil an essential oil? Also what kind of tea u drink? I want to try tea again because the teas that I tried from friends I didn’t like

Starrlight profile image
Starrlight in reply toSocial_Awk_Cookie

It contains essential oils I believe it’s made by the company Osea but any essential oil will do it like lavender and grapefruit etc... Republic of Tea has great organic tea I like their blueberry one.

I have an essential oil diffuser at home but I’m at college and they don’t allow them

Bigelow Earl Grey is one of my favorite black teas.

If you're near an Indian store, Quik Tea Ginger Chai is nice too. (I get "unsweetened).

Unfortunately I’m not near Indian stores. Is there any similar that can be found at Walmart etc.?

I don't think so. Unless your Wal-Mart has an Indian food section. But you can make ginger chai easily at home:

Get a thin ginger root. All you need is one small "finger".

Scrape off a bit of the skin near where the root is broken. Cut off two or three very thin slices and put them in a mug.

Add a tea bag if you like, or just leave it plain.

Pour on boiling water. Steep Add milk and or sugar if you like.

(Sometimes I add a cinnamon stick or a clove before I put in the hot water.)

Ginger is supposed to be very good for stomach boo-boos. It tastes nice too.

Calm radio or something like it and talking about the day to peers

I try to distract my mind. If I'm not up to reading, I watch shows or play games.

I like Dreamworks' Bilby. It is an animated short about a long-tailed rat (a bilby) living in the Outback. He has a tough life, a prey animal in a very dangerous land. But he finds a hero inside-himself when he encounters an even more helpless creature.

I also love watching Monk. It is a TV series about the a detective who suffers from OCD. The interaction of the characters reminds me of Sherlock Holmes. Watson is sometimes driven beyond tolerance by Holmes' behavior. So it is in Monk. The characters care about each other, and, so, we learn to care about them.

I used to watch the show Monk all the time on cable as a kid. The short movie sounds interesting I’ll probably watch that this evening

Monk is free on Peacock. The whole series!

What is "ink"?

My favorite Peter Falk performance is in The In-Laws. No matter how many times I see it, it still makes me laugh.

Social_Awk_Cookie Everyone is different, so I can't say what will work for you, but for me, sometimes it helps to lay down, close my eyes, and take deep breaths (as weird as it may sound, I find doing this while holding a stuffed animal especially helpful). I also find that Halls Cherry Cough drops help me with anxiety-induced nausea. Sometimes, it also helps to lay down somewhere warm, like next to a fireplace. Funny shows also help. I enjoy watching Impractical Jokers and South Park when I'm feeling down or anxious. Splashing cold water on my face also can help as well. It also helps to have an emergency medication such as hydroxyzine to stop a panic attack when it starts. Those are some of the things that help me anyway.

I never heard of using cough drops before because I also get so anxious and overwhelmed to the point where it feels like I’m gonna throw up. I’ll try that out the next time my nausea kicks up again. Thank you 🤗

Animal shelters need volunteers to take in animals short term. You could try bringing an animal home and see what you think.

in reply to

You might check out the animal shelters. I have a cat that was given to me. Cats seem to be less work than dogs in my opinion

🕵️‍♂️ 😀
