just looking for someone to talk to about anything! looking for a friend :)

Hi :-)

I suffer with Health anxiety to and have not coped with this covid , my Son is a key worker and my anxiety has been at an all time high , every time he gets tested my nerves are in a right state so I relate regarding your Health anxiety

If it were me I would get a covid test done some may disagree unless you have symptoms but as a Health anxiety sufferer I would need one for peace of mind

I was talking to someone today who had 2 members of their household and they managed not to catch it from them

How they did it was

Kept the windows open making sure air was getting through the house

The two people with covid stayed in the bedroom all the time , when they needed the bathroom or shower they are lucky as they had 2 bathrooms so they used one and the others used the other one if you have one bathroom when they have used it mask and gloves on and clean it well leaving the window open

They cooked their meals but would leave them outside the bedroom door for them to get once they had gone back downstairs

It worked and they never caught it so if it can work for them then it can work for you if you follow a similar procedure :-) x

That’s exactly what we’re doing. I tested negative on the first test but I’m terrified it’s a false negative. Thank you for the reply!!

Hello :-)Anxiety does like to torment us and maybe me trying to reassure you won't help but if you have had a negative result already I am sure you are ok , just keep doing what you are doing :-) x

Hi pinkdoglover! I’m sorry covid has entered your household! My family and I got covid around the beginning of December. For context, me and my twin are 21, my dad is 58 and my mom is 52. Everyone is relatively healthy in my house. My mom has some lung issues but luckily covid did not effect her much. My dad on the other hand was hit the worst and suffers a bit of long covid. But even still, he wasn’t too too bad. I can go in more details if you want about our symptoms and how we each handled it, but my best suggestion is to stay hydrated, REST, and take vitamins (D and C). The fatigue from this virus is real, so the best thing to do is to listen to your body and sleep. I found that doing this helped me get better quicker instead of pushing myself.

Also here is an instagram/twitter thread that I found after we were better. instagram.com/p/CJoIjekMMcL...

It looks superrrr helpful and suggests important things on how to treat covid at home. Before y’all start really feeling anything, it’s best to be prepared. Hopefully being prepared and planning can help sooth your anxiety. But also ! there’s a good chance you might not even experience anything! A lot of people have mild or are asymptotic.

And with all this being said too, do not go out into public or contact with others now that you know you could be a carrier or might get it.

I know it’s super scary and I completely understand your mind thinking about the worst scenarios. I think my best advice is to just take it a day at a time, make sure to check on your household members, share with them the link of advice on how to treat it from home, and be prepared to fight it. I seriously wish everyone the best and that you all have a safe and fast recovery. 💕

Thank you so much for the information. It’s really a peace of mind hearing other people talk about their experience. I’m 20 and I tested neg on my first test. I’m hoping the symptoms I’m feeling are all anxiety induced but I do have on & off joint pain, fatigue, chest pain & shortness of breathe (the scariest of them all). My sister (17) is the one that’s symptomatic positive. Thankfully, my mom got the 1st dose of the vaccine monday & we’re thinking my sister got infected sunday night. my mom (50) feels tired and headache so far. my dad (54) says he feels fine. so, that’s also a peace of mind. We’re all getting tested again today and hopefully going one day at a time. We’re all isolating in separate rooms and taking vitamins. I’m finding it a big hard to sleep bc I an intrusive thought/fear that something is going to go wrong with my body when I sleep. Thank you so much for the reply and comment!!

Are you at low risk from COVID? I’m 33 and healthy and I had COVID in December. I didn’t feel sick. I just felt like I had allergies. My husband has one risk factor. He was less sick with Covid than when he had the flu.

I’m 20 with no health complications in the past. My sister (17) is the positive one. She has mild symptoms. I feel joint pain/muscle soreness, chest pain so far, and trouble breathing (it could be from my anxiety). Thankfully, I tested negative on my first but still waiting on second test. Other ppl in the household are waiting for results

You may catch it but you will be just fine. Anxiety will be the worst symptom you have. Tons of healthy young people don’t even feel like they have a cold. Others it’s like a mild case of the flu. ❤️❤️❤️

Hi there! I am a health care worker and I got infected with covid 4 months back. I have developed health anxiety since then. I was living alone, and hadn't been able to go home the whole year; and was so scared to go through that. I started getting paranoid, and kept checking my vitals all the while...But you know what? I got through just fine. I had mild symptoms and recovered soon. I would suggest you to get a covid test done, so that you can have some peace of mind. And if you're positive, DONT FREAK OUT. Most of the cases are mild, and you have just got to get through that 2 weeks isolation period. Relax, get some hobbies done, eat healthy, get in maximum sleep, and focus on the bright side. I got through this by telling myself, this was a nice vacation and I could sit and watch a lot of tv, test my photography skills & do some writing. I also actually kept a written record of my 14 day experience, for future memories! Make sure you have family or friends nearby to help you out. DO NOT ASK DR. GOOGLE about your symptoms because trust me, it makes the whole process a lot worse. A lot of info on the web isn't based on proved facts, or is a write-up about a particular patient; but most of the time, it won't necessarily apply to you. I learnt that the hard way. Breathe buddy...you are going to get through this just fine. We r here for you, if you need to vent...😊

Thank you so much for this. It really gives me a peace of mind. I’m 20 with no health complications in the past. My sister (17) is the positive one. She’s a bit symptomatic. I feel joint pain/muscle soreness, chest pain so far, and trouble breathing (my doctor told me it could be from my anxiety). Thankfully, I tested negative on my first but still waiting on second test. I’m scared I have a false positive. Other ppl in the household are waiting for results. Luckily my mom got the 1st dose of the vaccine on monday- we’re thinking my sister got infected on sunday. my dad hasn’t been able to get the vaccine but he says he feels fine. I’m trying my hardest to not read anything online. I keep checking my temp & oxygen level like crazy. Again, thank you so much for the reply!!

Sure anytime! :) Try to restrict checking your temp and oxygen levels only once a day in the morning, and if really needed once before bed. Checking it multiple times can drive you crazy. Also, having anxiety can make you have shallow breathing which can show lesser oxygen levels n cause you to panic...thats what happened to me, and I decided to put a stop to all the obsessive monitoring 😅

again- thank you so much. this really helps as i’ve been checking temp & oxygen obsessively

Hey there, this is not a joke yoh. But I would advise that u get tested first before u conclude. This is how we end up with depression, we usually worry in advance. I worry a lot as well but find out the facts first then we shall see how we go on.... We are here for u...

agreed. i first tested negative, but i’m worried i’m a false negative since i’m having a bit of symptoms. getting tested again today and waiting for results which unfortunately takes at least 24 hrs

in reply to pinkdoglover

Let us wait together and see after 24 hours then we can see what is the next step....

Thankfully, there is a room for each one of us to use. We’re all isolating & sleeping separately until we all get back our results. I tested neg on the first test but I’m scared it’s a false negative. I’m having on & off joint pain, chest pain & shortness of breath (which is the scariest one for me) We’re using paper plates & etc and cleaning surfaces and doing our very best to stay clean

My sister got Covid in December, and she's 70 and diabetic and has other health issues, so I was really worried about her. It took her a couple weeks but she finally pulled through and seems back to normal. I know quite a few people who have gotten it and are okay now, including my daughter who was pregnant at the time and her husband, and quite a few older people. Your chances of getting through it if you get it are quite good. Try not to worry! (I know easier said than done, I have health anxiety as well and the slightest thing can send me into a panic!) Keep us posted!

thank you for the reply. it’s always a nice reminder that people get covid and they’re fine in the end compared to the news & viral internet stories saying the worst things. i’m worried about my whole family and myself to hopefully not develop more symptoms and just pass it thru in the shape we currently are
