Hello lovely people, do any of you suffer severe sick feeling in your stomach with anxiety? My anxiety has been really horrific this last couple of weeks, the worst part is this sick feeling it’s constant! I’m trying promethazine tonight and my dose of mirtazapine has been increased to 45mg. I do have 2mg diazepam but really don’t want to take these as i get dizzy 😟 I try audiobooks, reading etc and the negative thoughts are still with me? Anyway does anyone have any tips for this sick feeling in stomach please x

Thank you very much for replying, I was wondering if the mirtazapine could be making my anxiety worse as when I started them 15mg they helped so much then was increased to 30mg then last week my anxiety was the worst!! I’ll try the promethazine tonight and see how I get on over the next week or 2 with higher dose of mirtazapine and I’d no better I’ll go back to my gp. Thanks again and hope you are doing as well as we can be x
Hi Lizzie, first thing to say is you are by no means alone, although we often feel it, millions of people round the world including myself are experiencing such feelings. I had fairly moderate depression/anxiety which was under control, however the last few months have been feelings like I have never experienced before, (and that will be similar for so many, as these are uncertain and unprecedented times in our lives).
I have had the suicidal thoughts, which were quite persistent a few months ago, less so now, but still sore, sad and lonely. It is important to remember that these are very common especially now and are just thoughts. Of course we don't really want to act on them, we only want to think and feel better.
I am now on 45mg of Mirtazapine which has helped a bit, though I think all the Covid stuff has slowed it down somewhat, though it is still working away in the background and it will be for you too. I also have been prescribed 2mgs of Diazapam, which I initially was reluctant to take, but a bit better about taking them if I feel the need, rather than putting myself through more suffering. I get that they make you fee bit dizzy, which could possiby be anxiety over taking them. I feel a bit like that too. I have no experience of the other drug you mentioned, but hope it helps you. I hope this helps in some way, I am still on my journey to what we all want, just to feel okay, but not quite there yet.
I wish you love and best wishes on yours.
