I like to look at it as old depression vs new depression.
Some of us have been struggling for so long it has become a part of us so we move forward carrying it with us forever and seek guidance from elders.
Some of us are new to the feelings and want to dispel them and move on without them....a scary and sometimes impossible path.
What path are you on friend?
Sorry things are bad for you. Life is hard and we just need to keep plugging along. I dont know what has gotten you to this point but I hope it gets resolved soon.
