Possible gallbladder issue

Last year I started feeling unwell with an upper right abdominal ache radiating to my back, pain behind and around my belly button, a heaviness/constipation feeling on the lower-right abdomen, bloating, and nausea. This lasted longer than a month. Then one night after having a heavy meal, I started having intense pain that left me unable to sleep. I booked a GP appointment the next day. My GP suspected gallstones. I had blood tests that came back normal. My GP suggested I lower my fat intake. After a couple of weeks, I was feeling better. A month after seeing my GP I had an ultrasound which was normal (by that time I was feeling completely fine). I was pretty ok till last month when I started having the symptoms again. This time I contacted my GP immediately. My blood tests came back normal and I am still waiting for my scan (the hospital is still dealing with the August backlog due to Covid!) I don't know what my problem is. Eating a low-fat diet helps with nausea, but this is it. Not sure what to make of it all! Anyone with a similar experience?

Hi I was admitted to hospital early October with exact same symptoms I could hardly move for pain they thought appendicitis but it wasn't they said I had gall stones but were small and shouldn't cause any pain. My bloods also came back fine too. Dr now says it's Ibs but I don't feel as tho it is nothing seems to ease the abdominal pain and I get a weird feeling in my back like where my rib cage is I can't really describe it imagine like a trapped wind Sorta feeling but it's not trapped wind. Sorry this is probably no help but jusy so you know someone else is going through similar x

I recently experienced some of your symptoms: bloating, nausea, periumbilical pain. A pelvic ultrasound (that I requested) was unchanged from ones taken in my past. A MRI of the abdomen showed a suspected giant diverticulum, a fracture within the left femoral head (I am thinking from a old fall), fibroids, a small umbilical hernia - a mixed bag. I additionally had a endoscopy showing mild GERD, & colonoscopy showing one polyp. I got a second opinion on the MRI & was told the Radiologist considered it benign.

I did not personally find online symptom checkers particularly helpful. My Internist wanted a prolonged wait & see approach but I self referred myself to a G.I. doctor & got some answers (Just as I'd wedger to bet my Internist would if they were experiencing the pain!). I have been following a FODMAP eating plan at this time.

I wonder if ultrasounds would show gallstone sludge, & if so to what degree(?). I wish you good luck with your work-up.

I had this pain a number of years ago, it lasted on and off for a few years. Had all the scans and blood tests but nothing showed up. At one stage I thought it was the side effects of statins. Eventually the consultant said it was not muscular skeletal. Then I forgot about it and suddenly I realised I hadn't felt the pain in quite a few months.
