i feel completely trapped
It sounds like anxiety. Are there any coping strategies you can try in the morning to calm yourself? Yoga or going for a walk.
ive been taking walks when i start to get that panic feeling but this morning i ended up having a full blown panic attack on my walk. I can't stop thinking about my breathing and now my chest constantly feels weird and it hurts. Is that just because ive been having a panic attack everyday ?
I am not a doctor. I'm not a psychologist. I do not even dress up as one for halloween. With that said...
It sounds like it's anxiety. First off, awesome deal for going on the walks! When you're on your walk and you feel that happening stop thinking about your breathing, walk over to a plant and look at the leaf ...look at the serration of the leaves... the veining of the leaves the color of the leaves ....focus on nothing but the leaf for a few minutes ....identify the coloration of the green look at the stem.... just look at everything about the leaf. Or the fence post, or a flower. Or bring a coin and do the same thing. They have grounding exercises which are about the same thing . Basically it's just get your mind off your breathing because the more you focus on your breathing the more you're freaking out about it. I bet after a few minutes your chest will feel a lot better.
However anytime you have chest pains you should probably get checked by your physician.
Best of luck.
Blessings to all.
lavish02 , it sounds like anxiety. There are many different medicines and methods to help cope with it. First, its a good idea to try to figure out where it stems from, what triggers/causes it. then in the meantime, coping skills are very helpful. do you have someone you trust to talk to, neighbor, family, therapist, dr? you can do things that you are good at , or learn something new. try playing soothing music, reading, art, clean, chores, go for a walk, take a shower or even chew gum. these helped me. sending encouragement. keep us posted how you are doing.
i am seeing a therapist and im seeing a psychiatrist this up coming week. Im also going to go see my regular doctor. i also found this tapping method on youtube that helps remind me im okay.
that is very nice lavish02. try writing down how you feel, what time/date you listen to them and see if it helps. make that journal of your day, from the time you get up to the time you go to bed, include where you go, who you talk to and see, what you do and what you eat. it will help you get those feelings out that you don't like and nobody needs to see it. that is the best part. it is between you the paper/pen and your creator. im here to listen and help anyway i can. reach out to me anytime my friend. i am an overcomer and would be happy to share anything that helped me to help a fellow friend. believe in yourself, be patient. this is a process. also, protect your mindset. you have the control within you of what you think and it vital to your wellbeing what thoughts pop in your head and you believe. for it can be good or bad and it will direct your day. for what a person thinks and speaks becomes their reality for the next and future. this is truth. oh, that smile... it looks good on you. i suggest that you keep it! lol
I'm sorry that you're struggling. Panic attacks and anxiety can be so hard.
