How do you deal with Intrusive thoughts?

My fiancé cheated on me a few months ago and from time to time it makes my heart hurt all over again, I’ll have a nightmare about it or I’ll wind up reeling with anxiety and intrusive thoughts over it. We chose to work through it and this person isn’t a part of our lives anymore... and this is what I wanted... but some days I struggle to heal and breathe

Yes this is a lot to process. In my own experiences in relationships, this is completely normal. The continual thinking, re-thinking and haunting of the situation rehashes in the mind. Be gentle with yourself because your trust was broken. Leave yourself space to not force any outcome, the main priority right now is your mental health. It’s hard to rebuild after betrayal, but always put what’s best for you first! Many blessings on your journey💛
