Hi people, I’ve recently been put on sertraline for anxiety (health anxiety) and what the doctor thinks is low mood. I’ve only been taking 25mg for 6 days and I want to stop. My anxiety is through the roof I have headaches, an internal tremor and feel dizzy and sick on them. I’m wanting to try something more natural. Anyway can I just stop? Will I have side effects even after a short time and low dose?
Thanks in advance Diane

Hi I was recently prescribed sertaline for my health anxiety but was too afraid to take any as thought the side effects would be too much to cope with. I'm assuming you might get effects off just stopping as the medication will be in your system but I'd say check with dr before stopping incase it's harmful x
Increased anxiety when you start taking an SSRI is a known side effect, and it doesn't necessarily mean that Sertraline wouldn't work well for you, if you gave it more of a chance.
However if you want to come off it, at that dosage for 6 days, I would just immediately stop if it were me. I'm guessing you will recover fast enough.
I don't know about that medication. Drinking chamomile tea, being outside and listening to worship music calms me down. Weighted blanket is great too. I have been telling people like me that. I can pray for you.
