I try to compensate for not being like everyone else socially. I work full time but I won't work extra hours because I know how it runs me down emotionally. I work hard when on shift and do my very best to help and not be a drain on my company or co-workers. I start feeling guilty when I say no to extra hours. I keep catching myself thinking I should do more, be more, I should be like everyone else if I were normal. I wonder at times like this if I am considered a valuable employee. Is being reliable a valuable thing? Is doing what I am supposed to do when there is no one watching as valuable as working extra hours with less quality? I am probably overthinking this. I want to be a valuable human being not just someone with a good reputation. I hope I make a difference. I guess I hope I'm enough.

Trying to remember I'm enough.
Eagle12, you are more than enough. Being a valued employee is doing your best but also knowing where and when to draw the line. We all know our limits. Continue being who you are with no pretenses to be something you aren't. xx
I think that you have got it right. You are brave and very right to refuse extra hours.
Never feel guilty for saying 'no'.
I wouldn't be concerned about not being like anyone else socially. Just be you. Others might even be envious of you!
You ARE a valuable human being.
You are Precious and you are unique.
You are a reliable, hard working, conscientious employee. It's ok to relax in your own time and just be.
You are enough! ❤️
You are more than enough!! And you realize the importance of self-care. If your regular shift is all you can do, then so be it. Working more hours doesn't make you more or less of a person, just more tired. Remind yourself there is no set "normal" and you are more than enough. And, yes, your quality work is likely noticed and valued. You are giving your all when at work, taking care of your duties and being responsible. First, you don't have to answer for not working extra hours, but you could say, "I just know my work quality dwindles past so many hours." A good employer knows a shift of quality work is more valuable than a lot of hours of so-so work that may even have to be redone, costing even more to the company. So, you most definitely are more than enough!! Prayers for peace about your self-care. More people need to be your kind of normal.
