How to fix energy levels?
Hi, I hear you. I’m afraid being angry about your lack of energy won’t help... sometimes we just need a break from the fast pace of life making demands on us.
If you’re suffering with depression maybe your brain and body just need some more time to heal?
Instead of harboring feelings of shame, I would try to think positive about the activities that you can do. Maybe you don’t have the energy to run three miles every day... but you can take a 20-minute walk? It’s ok to accept your current energy level. Be kind to yourself.
Motivation will come if you give yourself care and time.
Try a new hobby. I find that art helps my energy levels. You can find art books online, at your local library etc. Charity shops stock a limited number of art books as do garden centres. Alternatively you can purchase art books from a local bookshop or from a car boot sale or yearly church book fair. I get my art books from a number of places including Amazon.
Facebook Marketplace may also have unwanted old art books for sale. Another two places worth trying are specialist craft shops and general supermarkets. Check out some reviews first to see what other people think. Art shops also have art and craft supplies and even can provide advice. Art museums and galleries often sell a small variety of art supplies and books in the gift shop. As a last ditch option you can contact a few art teachers directly to see if they can sell you any. Often people may have old art books in their bedroom, house or attic. Ask around.
Sign up for art lessons. Many people simply love teaching art. There are art magazines and interesting art courses available. YouTube have lots of art tutorial videos. Good luck! Art is easy to learn. Find a art teacher online. All you really need is confidence and a willingness to try something new. The entire art industry is booming right now post lockdown. Just do it is my advice.
Distract the brain with music,tv,pet,etc..
I make myself take walks and lift my 10 pound weight inside at home. For me I feel fearful but I just do it. I always feel better afterwards. Hang in there you are not alone on this. Hugs
Hi Shrubbery, in order to fix your energy levels, you need to move your muscles.
Lack of energy and motivation comes from inactivity as well as negative thoughts.
Start slow but start. Muscles were made to be used including the heart.
Once you get going, the endorphin levels will come into play and start making you
feel better. One foot in front of the other, one day at a time. xx
