I am so sorry for you ,I feel very anxious and have been awake since 2.30 am,my stomach is churning and heart is thumping,I am trying to watch television to take my mind off things .I know we will get through this but it is so scary at the time you are not alone we have wonderful support on this site take care.
To all the above who replied. You are all so kind! So many here who are so kind!! I am in awe. I just wanted to say that and to say it is such a beautiful thing to see hurting people helping hurting people. Or healed people helping hurting people. My idea of rainbows! Really, I just am so blown away by the kindness. THANK YOU
This post of course has nothing to do with me, nor should it, just had to share and say how beautiful I think you all are
I agree. I love all of the people here and I'm so grateful for this site.
There is a heart next to the like button so I am choosing the heart right now. Not like, for who would like this feeling or like anyone to feel it. But the heart I can get behind and that is my reason for clicking it. Sending Love
I hate that feeling like your emotions are taking over your whole body and you can't do anything about it. I had that same feeling several hours ago after getting an upsetting text from my brother. My heart was racing so bad and I'm up stillat 2:30 am because of it. I did a few things to calm down like vacuuming (yes at almost midnight) and then reading a book, which did help. Anything you can do to take your mind off whatever is causing the anxiety. I'm about to watch an ASMR video on YouTube which has been doing the trick for me lately and puts me right to sleep. Feel free to share what is triggering the anxiety here as that can also help.
Such Kindness! Keep it up everyone! I am in awe. Please do not respond to me for this post isn't about me I just am in awe. Rainbows! you are all rainbows and lights in the darkness
Hi. Have you heard of the 4-7-8 breathing technique? This is fashioned by Dr. Andrew Weils. Breathe in to a count of 4, hold for a count of 7 and breathe forcibly out to a count of 8. He describes the out breath as a whooshing sound.
Also, think of your stomach as a balloon. Inhale to inflate and exhale to deflate. I read that this is supposed to be a calmer way of breathing because it forces us to focus on our breath.
Also, my therapist has me use my senses to re-focus. Once I'm sitting, she instructs me to rub my hands up and down my thighs while looking around at my surroundings. Senses used here are sight and touch.
I hope these help somewhat🙂
