Anxiety Waves

I’m new here, i’ve always had anxiety and depression, a few days ago i had a meltdown out of nowhere. I also suffer from malnourishment, not sure if it’s because i have a high metabolism or what, but i am always skinny and couldnt gain weight if i tried, which im always trying. So whenever i have a meltdown out of nowhere that causes me to lose my appetite, and not eating causes me great anxiety. It’s a deadly loop that feels endless when you’re in it, i think some of you might be able to relate. Just trying to take one tiny bite of food at a time and make it through.

Welcome to the site! I am new as well. That must be hard to have to manage your eating when the anxiety hits. I also have anxiety and depression. My anxiety slowly rises over the weeks until I jump ship. I left my job because of it. Stay strong! Its a tough battle!

I’ve also left my job in the past from depression/anxiety, it’s impossible to function when you’re in the thick of it, i wish you well on your path to tranquility :)

You as well! It stinks but I feel like its better then doing something stupid on a bad day. I hope some day there is a magical cure :P

Thanks

I was like that. Ultra underweight when I was in my deep deep depression. Maybe you can get an older drug that works, but not used due to weight gain. Amitriptyline or Nortriptyline.. It takes time to work, as far as depression. In the beginning it makes you tired and hungry.

Thank you so much! It’s hard to find solutions for us in a world full of people who need to LOSE weight. I hadn’t thought of those i’ll bring them up to my therapist, thanks again!

Yeah, the" triptyline" family is really old. The only reason I know about it is because, although I'm on an anti-depressant, I was put on this one also to help with a specific type of nerve damage. I don't know the milligram starting point for depression, so, as you know, you'll have to see what works for you.
