This is probably a long stretch about unemployment but i will try!!
So long story short I was terminated from my job. (I put the link below with more details so It’s not overwhelming on this post to read) I filed for unemployment. I then get a letter in the mail saying “a question had been raised regarding eligibility. This interview is requested because you indicated on your application that you were discharged. Misconduct applies to your eligibility” what exactly does this mean and what should i say for the interview. I was obviously unjustly terminated. I’m kind of freaking out and so anxious.... I’m struggling here..I can’t continue without any form of income. It doesn’t help that i am mentally ill and has been a struggle all of my life with jobs. I feel hopeless. ( I live in the Chicago area btw)
I have read your story, what I don’t quite understand is on what grounds they terminated your contract?
Do they claim it was a misconduct issue or was it Covid related? If it’s the latter, I think that’s easily explained and will be accepted as a valid reason.
She said and I quote “since you can’t work, and missed your shift I will have to terminate you in the system” but that’s not what I said. I said I couldn’t work at that center anymore” she didn’t even ask for clarification. She just terminated me.
