So I just kind of came to the realization that if I can‘t deal with my anxiety I will have to live my life like this until the day I die. As you all know, there is no medical cure but if you work with your mind and practice meditation or mindfulness you could get better (please correct me if I‘m wrong). Well I‘m just kind of scared that I‘ll never get better. My mom once told me that my anxiety is just a phase (I‘m pretty sure y’all heard that somewhere before) However it‘s not a phase and we both know that now but I really really wish that it would be a phase. I just want to get better.
Sending love and peace to everyone out there!

Hi, I agree with Agora1 she is one smart knowledgeable lady. Yes anxiety can start with a thought, we need to get control over our mind. I find exercise, especially Hatha Yoga to be very helpful, read good long uplifting books, listen to some peaceful music. I suffer with anxiety, so I am on medication which helps me a Lot. If you are a teenager yes it could be part of growing into the adult world, it is not easy. Want to read a great book, it helped me a Lot. By Dr. Scott Peck, "The Road Less Traveled" Amazon has it new and used, it is a good book in as far as getting to know yourself and retrain your brain. I wish you well, write to us, we offer love and support, we all suffer on here, right now I am OK....Sending love, peace, big hugs.....
No offense to your mother. But if anxiety was a phase it is definitely a long phase I have dealt with it for over 50 years. Anxiety that leads to failure that leads to depression. I have tried a variety of medications over the years to deal with both anxiety and depression without success. Some medications have helped slightly and then the dosages had to be increased and then eventually the effect was nominal and the side effects proved to be unbearable. People who don't suffer with anxiety or depression even if they try don't understand. It has cost me two marriages and has strained the relationship with my children and grandchildren. I know the struggle is real and I wish you all the luck in the world in dealing with your anxiety. Seek comfort in knowing that there are others that feel your pain daily. And above all don't beat yourself up, some days will be better than others. Remember the sun will come up tomorrow.
Oh, it‘s all good. She takes it really serious now and I‘m really thankful for all of her support. I‘m sorry to hear that you’ve lost so much because of it. I lost my best friend. We were really close but she didn‘t want me in her life anymore. I‘m so thankful for your words. I wish you all the best
Check out this website; anxietycentre.com. Lots of information on here on what causes anxiety disorder, how to actually recover from it. I recently joined. You can talk to therapists, all of whom apparently have suffered and recovered from anxiety and depression. Yes there is a fee. Looks promising.
Hi User536. I'm here to tell you that you do *not* have to live with anxiety for all of your life. I like Cognitive-Behavioral therapy, because it helps me to identify the thoughts that create my anxiety. Also, a strong faith in God and prayer helps me. Medication can also be helpful. For me, the best medical intervention is a psychiatrist for medication and a therapist for talk/behavioral therapy. Hope this helps and may God bless you with peace.
Thank you for your kind words, god may bless you with peace too! I‘ll educate myself on the Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and I‘m very thankful for your advice. Thank you, it means alot!
