How many people are focusing on solutions

This site has so much negativity. Yes, we are living with Depression, yes we have anxiety. What are we each doing to live our best lives with these conditions

I'll start with me....First and foremost I'm taking my medications which is my responsibility

I'm working on cultivating more love, and compassion for myself. I'm eating healthy food, and exercising, listening to positive uplifting Ted Talks, scriptures, meditation, mindfulness, hypnosis on You Tube

I accept my Depression, and Anxiety but choose to not to focus on it and instead focus on activities that reduce it so I can live a better life

People are genuinely in a lot of pain of some sort. Mentally, emotionally, physically or a combo of all three. These things are not looked at negatively by me and I most certainly do not think others are not involved in their own recovery, healing, management. Some are not even diagnosed or have no where to turn or talk to.

That said, I’m a walking functioning insomniac with plenty of anxiety to boot on several fronts... healthy diet, exercise, acceptance of all of it and the fact I’m just getting dang old by the day.

Whilst I do agree to some extent with you don't forget everyone is at a different stage in their life and part of the way we can help is to move them forward into a healthier mindset.

Also too understanding often comes with age and many of the members are very young yet.

Maybe try to understand that its not as easy for some people to focus on other things? Once you understand that hopefully you can use what has helped you to help others. I dont think of it as negativity, people just want to share their experiences and be heard.

I have only just joined this week, i havent posted a great deal myself but i have tried to give good advice where i feel that i can, this site is for those suffering with anxiety and/depression or maybe they are close to someone who is, or maybe they are in a better place and want to offer words of advice as someone else said everyone is at different stages on a site like this its not going to be all sunshine and roses, i far from think it is full of negativity though there is a lot of positive on here, people making helpful sugestions giving good advice sharing experience of things that have helped them, many people who have problems do infact do many things to help themselves and the sheer fact that they are on here is a start for some everyone as to start somewhere to begin their journey on that road to recovery...

First of all, good for you for being able to do all that!👍 I have also come a long way in my depression and can happily say that it's not my biggest issue anymore.

That said though, everyone's life journey is vastly different. Everything about a person is vastly different from that of the next person (this includes their observations about others). I don't see negativity on this site, but rather people with vastly different situations doing their best to get the help they need. I respect your observation of negativity on this site, though.

Sounds good to me

I try to spread positivity on here whenever I can. I'm one of those people who just can't get the motivation to do all that. I think little things are big accomplishments to people like me. I don't exercise every day, just getting out of bed and doing the laundry is huge for me. Some people just don't handle situations as well as others. That's what this space is for. Not negativity. Reaching out is a win to me.

I agree with everything you shared...I realize now my post was insensitive to others that haven’t made the progress I have, many days I struggle, and am unable to do much, even self-care

Appreciate your reply

It wasn't insensitive. You just want to see others getting through it. I understand. Sometimes you let your own improvement blind you to others inability to improve.

But congrats on getting through it! I hope one day I can get up and be this motivated. Your post gives me hope. 🙂

I’m seeing a counselor. I journal. I walk. I try to eat well and get plenty of rest. I work on being thankful and looking at the positive things. It’s not easy but I get up every day and work on these things.

I agree it’s not easy but being intentional with positive action really helps manage our symptoms

A lot of people have not been able to come to terms with their anxiety and depression like you have. Yes there is negativity because a lot of people are feeling desperate and havent been able to find their way to relief. They come here to this site to cry out and look for help. I know its tough to read a lot of posts on here about people going through rough times. It will exhaust you if you read them all the time. You are basically telling people to get a grip but many just dont know where that grip is. I'm glad you have found it though.
