I have a question. How related are anxiety and depression? From what I have read so far it seems to me that I suffer from anxiety (I have not been diagnosed by a profesional yet). But a lot of the symptoms, for me, are very similar to what it can be heard about depression. I feel like crying all the time, I feel like I want to stay in bed all day, I have trouble sleeping and I’m starting to fear that I don’t know exactly what’s going on with me. Is there any advice for those feelings?

How related are anxiety and depression
Anxiety and Depression are linked because untreated/ungoing/chronic anxiety can make you depressed. But it can also be comorbid (AD + Depression). Also, generally, depressive states are common with anxious people, and anxiety itself incorporates some elements found in depression like tiredness, mood swings, tension, panic attacks, isolation...
Now my advice would be to evaluate whether anxiety is causing reccurent depressive states or if anxiety is simply an underlying symptom of Major Depression or other types of depression. You should write when it happens, when it starts and/if it ends so you can establish an appropriate treatment.
I know how you feel
Thank you for your insight.
Marchcol, I am sure there is some relation between the two. It sounds like you are really going through a lot and I am so sorry for that. Maybe you can speak with someone and get help on exactly what you are facing so that you are able to get the most effective help. I know you can conquer this with the right the mindset. You are stronger than you think!!
Thank you for your kind words. It empowering knowing that there is a solution for this. I’m just still feeling a little lost on how or where to get help
I will do some research and see if I find anything to help you start somewhere.
Thank you!
Marchol, here is an article I think may be helpful for defining some things you are talking about: bit.ly/2ic5SWi
It also looks like they have counseling available too: bit.ly/2DS3v7S
