I am alway that friend that everyone can go to and yes if I asked they’d be there for it’s not a pride thing it’s just I don’t trust myself with my feelings so why place it on their laps I just want some people to help me feel okay

i feel the same way and i always grew up being the strong one for everyone around me. its really hard to accept that just like i am there for others, that it's ok for other people to be there for me too. i always feel like a burden, but i have to remind myself im human too and i need people too sometimes. i strayed away from this app for a while but it is so helpful and useful to just get it out and have people i dont even know either be going through/ feeling the same as me.

Hi, hope you all well.

opening your feelings to people can be nerve racking but once you do you may start to feel much better. Hence, reason for this post.

Being strong for others does not make you any less help to them. It may rather make others feel they can confide in you more as you share your feelings to them.

You say you have friends who are there for you. I say take advantage of that. Very few people can actually say that!

You say you don’t trust yourself with your feelings. So maybe it is best to sit with yourself and say to yourself what you feel first? Or write down the emotions you feel so you can face them and then talk to others about it?

You don’t necessarily need an answer for why you feel what you feel at the moment. But later talking it through can help get to that result so you can deal with it.

The best thing about talking with others is that you don’t need to deal with things alone.

No need for any of you to feel like a burden. Having emotions IS what makes you Human and it’s perfectly fine.

I suggest talk with family and friends, those whom you are comfortable with.

At the very least, you have us- this App to talk but having those people who live with you and know you better can make all the difference to easing any feelings you may or may not have. Talking does bring clarify to the situation at times.

So go for it! Express yourselves. Be happy be blessed

What are you feeling NOT OK about? Everything? Can I help? Maybe if you were a lil more specific? It always helps to trace roots, but sometimes you do not know. If you keep being proactive about your mental well-being, you will eventually start to feel OK, and a little better. But it may not happen immediately.

You sound like the kind of friend I need! I think Health Unlocked is a wonderful and fairly safe place to express your feelings. (I say fairly safe because sometimes not-so-nice people join and cause trouble for others) However you can always report them. The Admins here are wonderful at keeping this a safe place. You can Personally Message someone if you prefer not putting it out there for everyone.

I really hope you feel better soon. I've been where you are. It feels very scary and I am sorry. Feelings are just that, they can make us feel GOOD or NOT SO GOOD. But I have learned that they are a poor Master.

I think there is a mistaken belief out there to trust your feelings. I think a lot of ppl confuse that with intuition. It is important to recognize the difference, but very tricky.

SO do not be alarmed. You can gain control over your feelings.
