Yup, I just came to the conclusion that I'm an introvert. I attend online groups where we call in also.

i have anxiety at times, but my husband has very bad social anxiety all the time... the grocery store, the mall, family events anything he hates it... he takes hydroxazine i think that’s how u spell it and he says it helps him. i am prescribed it too, but i only take it a few times a week. it helps me a lot. and it doesn’t make u feel groggy or high or weird. it just relaxes me and he says the same.
I have always suffered from this have been to numerous amounts of therapy counselling etc and still no improvement. My gp just keeps trying me on new medication and none of it has worked. It’s crazy to think I can’t pick up the phone unless I know who’s calling😩 I don’t honestly why I am like this.
try to keep your head up ❤️ i’m struggling with learning who i am, and figuring out what to do to get help for myself.
They say mindfulness is a great help have you tried that? I am very impatient and want results straight away, perhaps should give it another try!

It is hard sometimes to even be alone with you, I'm currently trying to not think too much and go out even alone to make some progress, it is hard to live this way but I hope it'll end very soon.
Hi yes, I have social anxiety and at times I feel very overwhelmed. I believe it is a learned behavior that we can unlearn but it takes time. It means slowly exposing yourself to situations that scare you
Yes you are right I need to try and get out of my comfort zone..it’s a hard thing to do but I will persevere with it..I need too!
I feel the same way! I lost two of my good friends, and one of them is in a relationship and lives an hour away.
Magnesium citrate can help with anxiety and feeling overwhelmed. Your idea of practicing mindfulness is also very helpful. I do both as well as take prozac and this has greatly reduced my social anxiety.
Hi, I know how you feel and I hope you find some relief from the anxiety on this site!! I’ve found that meditation can help a bit, as well as talking to someone you trust about how you feel. I know that it can be hard if you feel that nobody understands or cares, or that they’re judging you, so you could also try writing about it. Sometimes distracting yourself with other activities offers some relief. Medication can also work. I hope this helps and you feel better soon!!
Yes it’s nice to know I am not the only person feeling this way..at the moment alcohol has been my only escape but don’t want to go down that slippery slope..I have been prescribed some new medication hopefully this one will help me to relax a bit more so I can pick myself up again..it feels like an impossible situation to be in but deep down I do believe things will get better🙂
Hi! Good for you for reaching out! A lot of people just sit in silence! I have found that cutting down cafeine can help with anxiety I feel. It also helps me to read or write in my journal. Taking some quiet time can be a help to relax and just breathe. I try to think of whatever is making me anxious as just a season or a time. I won't always feel like this. I hope some of this helps!
Hi..yes I have been trying to get help, I have been referred to so many different therapists in the past and although some of it has helped 18 years later I am still desperately struggling with my confidence, it’s so frustrating as I know if I had confidence I would feel so much better and I wouldn’t have so much anxiety. I do have a lot of caffeine as well as alcohol but I am setting myself the challenge not to have a drink tonight which will be hard😩 but will feel much better if I achieve this!
