Pictures of swelling

I know I’m posting a lot but I thought some pictures might help people to understand better about what’s going on with the swelling from this infection.

So I’ve labelled the pictures 1-4 and I’ll be talking about each picture individually

Ok so In picture number 1 which is a picture of what my tongue and under my tongue is looking like. I feel like all underneath my tongue looks swollen it also has some ulcer looking things under there too that I’ve noticed tonight. And the bottom half of my tongue looks swollen and inflamed as well and you can see there’s little red dots on top of my tongue.

Picture number 2 is a picture of inside of my cheek. The inside of both cheeks is super swollen you can even see it’s pushing up against my teeth. When my mouth is closed more it’s actually resting on top of my teeth a bit. And as you can see beside it there’s a small lump as well towards the top of my cheek.

Picture number 3 is a picture of my tonsils so you can see how red and inflamed they look

And picture number 4 is a picture of my left tonsil. There’s little spots of pus all over it.

Does this look like oral thrush. That’s what my mum thinks it’s is.

Or can tonsillitis cause other things to swell apart from the tonsils (I’ve had a swab for strep bacteria and it came back negative)

A few people have even said that I could have hypothyroidism since I have high TSH levels so could that cause all this to swell.

And I have terrible anxiety as well so could that be the cause of all this?

I think you have strep! I almost died from it! PLEASE GO GET HELP! You need antibiotics. STAT. Do NOT let the negative strep tests FOOL. you. I got 3 in California one year. ALL NEG. Yet I was sick as hell. My dad took me to his wise old doctor who took ONE LOOK (did no tests!) at the PUS on my tonsils and said, "Yep, it's STREP." He did not even give me a Prescription as I needed the meds IMMEDIATELY. He gave them to me, several boxes of it. Called Avalox. The third strongest anti-B in the world. Yes it will make your head flip out because it kills nerves but it also kills your infection. ANYWAYS I GOT BETTER! He saved my LIFE! Show the pus on your tonsils to a doc now. Tell them you have a friend where it was strep, even with neg strep tests done (3!). OK? AND you are probably going to have to get your tonsils taken out. Its a short surgery and not that bad. Yes, very painful recovery but worth it. I wish you well!

I’ve had 3 courses of antibiotics over 4 months they haven’t helped. I’ve been to 2 gps and a ENT. None of them know what it is. My ENT gave me a form to get my tonsils removed but she didn’t know what was wrong so I was worried about having the surgery in case that wasn’t it. If I have the surgery will it kill the infection without having to take anymore antibiotics?

Yep. Most likely. Those damn tonsils can cause ALL KINDS of infections. FOR YEARS, I got tonsillitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis and strep and had to take all KINDS of Anti-B's. FINALLY I got brave enough to get the tonsils out and-WHA-LA! NO more infections!

It's really not a bad surgery and very safe. Your throat will hurt after but they give you meds to control the pain. You will want a lot of ice cream and will lose your voice for a week.

I would also get a Colloidal Silver Throat Spray. It kills almost everything.

Ok thank you so much I haven’t handed my form into the hospital to be put on the waiting list for the surgery yet so I’ll have to get my mum to do that this week. And I’ll definitely look into getting a throat spray thank you so much for your help!

Thanks for sending that link. Sounds like you need them out if that's what they are telling you.

If they are questioning the cause of the infection or their treatment plan Mayb you should see infectious disease md??

Just a thought. I'm not a doctor and we can't give medical advice here.

If you were my daughter I would want resolution to the issue.

I wish you luck with this. It looks painful.
