Feeling alone and hopeless with a huge pit in my stomach. I dont understand my husband and his destructive, selfish, and at times mentally abusive behavior. I just don't know what to do anymore. I dont think I ever did know, I just pretend.

Thank you. Yes, we've been together for 20 + years, tho we are 35 years old. I have talked myself to death about it. He is struggling to stay sober, even tho he just was declared in remission from cancer. Good days are awesome, but days like this, where he decides to go run the streets, I struggle...

I’m so sorry to hear that you feel alone and hopeless. Sorry to hear about your husband. Try to talk to him again when you are both calm and tell him about how you truly feel. I’ve been married for almost 25 years and I see the importance of communication in any relationship.

Please stay strong. Seek marriage counselling, it would be helpful in your situation. I have a friend who already planned to leave her husband but after marriage counselling, they are still together and their marriage improved.
