Set a neurologist to do an MRI of my brain. I am having issues with balance and some minor headaches. True to form I am obsessing about it now and wondering if she’s looking for something more dire like MS. Help!

I am having an MRI on Tuesday of my brain. I am freaking out!
I generally have scans on the brain every twelve months, they do take longer than an XRAY although they do not hurt and the only problem may be feeling claustaphobic or sometimes the sounds of the machine can be alarming, nothing hurts. So I wish you well, let us know how you get on
Keep Safe and stop worrying

Thanks for responding. I’m not scared of the procedure as I am of the diagnosis.
I suffer from Dizziness and associated problems. In my case I have damage in the neck and that restricts the blood supply to the brain if I turn my head or get up quickly from sitting. Generally when out the same applies. I had my last neck scan about six months ago.
Sometimes being dizzy is caused by the ears as well. Consider most problems we have can be not that serious. As we get older, I am nearly seventy we get things that worry us. We need to get our tests and only worry if something serious is wrong. You need to get the test done and move on

I've had one, my doctor was looking at the possibility of MS. I was really scared but didn't need to be, wasn't bad. Not knowing what was wrong with me was awful. I waited 6 months before getting diagnosed with five medical conditions. I wish you the best, and hope it's something minor, and easily treatable 💐
They know what’s best 😊 Don’t stress it! YOU GOT THIS ❤️
There are so many things that can cause this, so don’t focus on that.❤️
Could I ask please are you on medication, do you have anxiety, depression the shakes or tremors. Because my balance isn’t good and I suffer with headaches and I have these symptoms my doctor puts mine down to anxiety but I’m not so sure
Yes, I can understand the anxiety around the scan and the possible diagnosis. I have had many MRIs ... they are not invasive or painful. They can be a bit loud, but you will be given earplugs. I keep myself calm during MRIs by focusing on my breathing.
Here's a breathing technique that works well for me. [It's used by Navy SEALs]
1. Breathe in through your nose for 4 seconds.
2. Hold your breath for 4 seconds.
3. Breathe out through your nose for 4 seconds.
4. Hold for 4 seconds.
5. Repeat.

And, I know it's so hard to be in limbo when it comes to a medical diagnosis. I definitely understand. Sometimes what helps is distracting yourself if worst case scenarios come to mind. Funny videos ... getting involved in an activity you enjoy. Of course, these are just ideas. You will be able to identify what's best for you. Again, I know it's hard. I hear you. I wish you the best.
Here's an article about easing worry when waiting for medical tests:
How did you get your doctors to send you for a scan I have the same I tired they wouldn't ?
don't worry I hope it all turns out well!
I also suffer from dizziness and feel off balance but I can't seem to get my doctor to take an Mri.
I have gone to 4 different emergency rooms they all say its vertigo or anxiety 😫
Its very stressful but stay strong and sensing nothing but positive vibes your way ♡
Much easier said that done I know, but please try not to stress out. Your mind is going haywire with "what ifs" when, in reality, you really don't know what will happen. That happens to me all the time and it is soooooo frustrating!!!! By the time I get the result (which is never as bad as I thought), I'm too worn out and my nerve endings too fried from all the worrying I did!
Praying it goes well for you!
Thanks. I tend to think the worst which is so non productive.
