They say before you speak you should use the method ( THINK) T= Is it true? H = is it helpful? I=is it inspiring? N= is it necessary? K= is it kind?. I think this could be applied to our negative and toxic thoughts going inside our own head. And also applied to ourselves, the way we treat ourselves. What we say to ourselves and what we believe about us. Especially when going through bouts of depression. I think way too many times we treat ourselves bad and are harder are on ourselves and have no compassion for ourselves or illnesses. Our anxiety and/or depression. Also when having anxiety maybe stop and ask is this true and helpful for me? ? Perhaps the answer maybe no. And seeking a coping skill. Maybe saying positive affirmations instead, etc..Food for thought

Learning to take baby steps in the area of self-compassion while also allowing to feel my painful emotions. I wasn't even aware that I used disassociation as a way to cope.
