From 5 HTP to Fluoxetine?

Hi, I've just been prescribed Fluoxetine (presumably the lowest dose my doc said). I'm currently taking 5 HTP 400mg. The doc said it was okay to stop the 5 HTP today and start the Fluoxetine, can I just check this is what would typically happen? I know in the past I've swapped from Sertraline to citalopram the day after each other, but I know 5 HTP works slightly different.

I have PMDD, and my anxiety is just getting out of control, so feel I need to go back on the meds.
