I can’t sleep. I wake up everyday around 7:30-8 am and I fall asleep around 3-4 am. What am I doing wrong. I just can’t go to sleep. When I try I lay on my bed drowning in thoughts or watching netflix until I fall asleep. And right now as I am typing this I’m getting a headache, I feel tired but not tired at the same time.

Same here can’t fall asleep with all these thoughts!!

Same here! I go to sleep fine but then I wake up in the morning and stay awake for hours. I like to keep melatonin next to my bed and that usually helps me fall asleep in 30 minutes or an hour.

I used to keep a notebook /journal by my nightstand and would try to do a 'brain dump' of my most pressing thoughts. With it being on paper, I didn't feel like I had to hold onto so much information in my head. It helped a lot! Albeit, my pen couldn't keep up with how fast my mind was moving, at least I felt like I got the main points out. And if I dozed off to sleep and had another thought that awoken me, I would sit up, and write that one down too, until my body finally got tired of the process. 😁 Eventually, I would finally make it to sleep!

Sometimes we put too much emphasis on sleep a.d when we know it's late and past our bed time we get amped up which causes us to be awake.

Have you tried reading a book before bed. This can strain our eyes slightly and help us fall asleep. Also try not looking at your phone about 2 hours before bed.

Last point (this was big for me) open a window and get cold. Heat makes me not able to sleep for some reason.

You can also try melatonin (just check with a pharmacist if your on any kind of meds)

Totally understand,I wake up part way through the night every night and haven't been sleeping all the way through, I get enough sleep but still feel tired,I think in my case it's a mix of anxiety and depression about what is happening because I've been having unpleasant dreams / nightmares about actual things that have been happening in the world , when I wake up I still feel tired though.I'm glad it's Friday so I won't have to do anything specific at the weekend.
