I guess I’m just introducing myself. I suffer from bi polar depression and it was recognized after antidepressants were already used so now I’m weaning off my current AD and I’m scared of the withdrawals like worsening depression/anxiety but it’s gonna be worth it because the AD makes me so irritable all the time! Hope I can find support here! 💙

Hi. Glad you came here. I find it helpful to read about the challenges others are facing. Like you I am also in the process of getting off a medication. So far, it has gone better than I could have hoped. I still talk to my therapist regularly, all by phone now. That helps. I read a survey this forum did recently about what is helping the members here. Lots of people said exercise. I know it helps me. Do you exercise? What have you found that helps most?
It is a bummer. I bet some entrpreneutial soul has posted home exercises for the covid 19 shut ins. I have created a bit of a routine for myself here. Floor exercises and stretches 3 days a week. TaiQi every day except friday. Friday I let myself do nothing. 🥳. Did you see the survey on this website recently about what others are doing?
Side effects are always a concern. Are you tapering down at the same time you taper up the new?
I guess the best advice is to be aware of your triggers and let your support network know the possible signs and what you need to move forward.
You have a good, positive attitude. Best wishes.
Hi, Yeah you'll always find support here. I have and have done the same for many many others. I haven't been on as much lately, but I still check in to the friends and supporters I have met on here for over a year now. Any time you need support feel free to Message me and I'll reply as soon as I can.
I have been on a lot of different types of ADs myself. Currently I'm on Cimbalta. I have several siblings on other meds for Depression, Anxiety, Schizoaffective Disorder, and Bipolar mental health issues. Just know you're not alone.
Again feel free to direct message me any time. Cheers.
