Struggling at home

I live in NJ so this is about the third week of being in the house. I’ve been working from home and my classes have been moved online. My brother moved back in for the time being (not sure why). My whole family does not get along. My mother is very manipulating and my brother is here just to take advantage of free meals and not having to clean up after himself. I see other families having a nice time together and trying to enjoy each others company while at home but I feel so disconnected from my family and this experience is so lonely for me.

Yeah I feel this, I definitely have this kind of disconnect too. Are there major beefs you have other than what you mention or is it more just everyone’s a tad crazy?

Oh man. I see this like my family. Mom is manipulative but none of us wants to go visit because of it. If we do visit its because of our dad. So we , sister and me, we go there and can stand it until mother cuts us or other family members down. She has been that way all our lives. I look at other families hugging and laughing and having good time. The only " hug" we get is when mom just uses one arm to hug and chew us out for not hugging her back because she is side by side and not in front. Everything that goes wrong is everyone's else fault. Wish I knew what love really is. So l feel for you. Hope things turn around for your family. No one deserves to be treated as such.
