The silver lining while surrounded in fog... ๐Ÿ˜ƒ what does the air smell like in your world? Get outside!

Surrounded in fog, 11C 100% humidity, warm breeze.

I love walking in the fog itโ€™s like natural camouflage. It muffles sound until you are upon it... the air feels quiet, peaceful... the smells of wood stoves, fresh cut hardwood, pine needles, cedar trees, running maple sap and rain all linger as though stuck in the fog. The warm breeze is an exciting change... the humidity is actually humid and not damp feeling like all winter๐Ÿ˜Š... everything smells so fresh and renewed... lots of mud๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ˜‚ I saw this small slice of sky between the fog and grey rain clouds... to me it seemed like a little slice of hope... as I rounded the corner a while later the sun peeked out and warmed my back.... so no matter how bleak my mood was into the fog I came out in the sun feeling refreshed and renewed.... โ˜€๏ธ๐ŸŒฆ

Hope everyone can change their mindset today even if u start off in a pre meltdown state....๐Ÿ˜ข๐Ÿ˜ž๐Ÿ”œ๐Ÿ™‚โ˜บ๏ธ

Amazing photo and I love your description of the nature you were emerged in. Iโ€™ve been constantly up and down in mood itโ€™s exhausting but my times out gardening was the best part of my day.

This is generally the best of my day... take good wherever I can get it... ๐Ÿ˜Š

Oh yes! And btw I love that you describe the fog as your camouflage. What a good feeling.

๐Ÿ˜Š it is like it a bit... I like that type of invisibility....

Starrlight profile image
Starrlight in reply to CanuckAnon

Same here. Iโ€™m a pluviophile โ€˜rain-loverโ€™ because rain is like a shelter away from it all.

CanuckAnon profile image
CanuckAnon in reply to Starrlight

Yes it is... I like being able to be invisible like but being invisible or not seen/noticed is not good... weird how variations of something make all the difference. I like the feeling of warm rain... Iโ€™m not a fan of cold rain but like frozen rain (snow)....๐Ÿ˜Š

A favorite memory i have is I was running track in the spring or summer in the rain and then came a rainbow ๐ŸŒˆ

Thatโ€™s awesome... did u find a pot o gold? ๐Ÿ˜‚

in reply to Starrlight

Love it..have had moments when in a minute a rainbow came out by the time I found only half was left. Half a rainbow is better than none in a photo but I still hold the memory of the entire whole rainbow .๐Ÿ’“๐ŸŒˆ

Starrlight in reply to

I canโ€™t recall if Iโ€™ve seen a full rainbow before ... so cool to imagine... would love to see one right now . Here it just stopped raining, sun is out and very windy.

in reply to Starrlight

Yes it is great to catch the rainbow with all colours. We can take photos from the windows which saves getting wet. The images are our crocks of good to look at when we have time.

in reply to Starrlight

Here it is dark . Curtains are shut. We are watching a bald eagle with huge wingspan fishing in the sea on TV. You have the day ahead. Our day is soon over but we are pleased to be here enjoying our family and our lives. Every day is precious.

in reply to Starrlight

Quite surreal like a message from the sky . That memory must mean a lot and trigger happiness.

in reply to CanuckAnon

You can't be invisible and be able to gain attention . Invisibility is escape. You have the best of both worlds now you can be here and now and create scenes to help us find the silver lining.

If we walk to the car we are soaked before we drive to shop.๐Ÿ˜ก

Yes thatโ€™s why slickers or macs were invented... ๐Ÿ˜‚

in reply to CanuckAnon

Yes but by the time you put up the umbrella you are soaked as you climb into a dry seat with your wet Mac. The umbrella spoke might like out too. Ha.

Turning off the news helps as it is constant misery. Gardening does help. Did some knitting today not so bad as I thought. Feel ok when busy. How were kids?

What are u knitting? My knitting has been put away... Iโ€™m not good at it... I start out with a scarf and end up with a dog blanket... ๐Ÿ˜‚

in reply to CanuckAnon

Ha ha am knitting a sweater on a knitting machine. It is so relaxing. Am improving. Think it will look ok. Have all sorts of wool I dream of making toys with but never have time. A relative bought machine on e Bay and it is fine with a bit of attention.

CanuckAnon profile image
CanuckAnon in reply to

I go at for a while then put it down ... will finish it eventually... maybe I will be able to turn it back into a scarf... an ugly one but a scarf none the less.๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

in reply to CanuckAnon

Get on with that dog blanket. There's a big knitting world with Deramores with info on knitting groups and patterns in your country. I could spend days on this wool website with the textures and colours .

I learned how to knit when I was young but then took it back up when doctor told me to get a hobby... lol learned by watching you-tube... itโ€™s not a hobby I prefer... causes stress in a way for me. ๐Ÿคช

Good you can stay busy. Thanks for asking- the kids are as energetic as ususl and not at all afraid of whatโ€™s going on and are good when I have educational lessons with them.

I agree staying away from news as long as we know whatโ€™s going on,... no need to hear it over and over.

What are you knitting?

in reply to Starrlight

A machine knit sweater. I turned a mistake in the neckline as a feature . Will each arm be the same length and width. The mystery knit will be tried soon much to the north of hubby if it does not fit. I did eat some extra biscuits.๐Ÿ™„

Awesome!

in reply to Starrlight

Not really I did a knitting course twenty years ago or more but I had sight and sinus and incoordination . My knitting attempts were poor. However I did another online course sending my samples back. I earned a certificate. Was well chuffed. Now it is fun to meet around not worried by what others may think.

in reply to CanuckAnon

Wow riding. That's great. You don't have much time with pets walking and looking after horse.๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ™‚

It does not take that much time... sometimes I combine the 2... ๐Ÿ˜‚

in reply to CanuckAnon

Do dogs run beside you when you ride ? Some dogs run off and then they off into the undergrowth. Little sausage dog is good at rushing off and we have to watch gates being shut. Love the photo and you have cracked it as you are seeing how the silver lining can be found in light and share. I find painting lighter colours helps me feel serene. Am off to my knitting now.

Dogs stay on their leads at all times... they are too inquisitive, eat anything they find and tend to leave messes behind them... ๐Ÿ˜Š

in reply to CanuckAnon

What even when you are riding. Are they pulling a cart beside the horse๐Ÿ™ƒ๐Ÿ™ƒ๐Ÿ™ƒ๐Ÿ™ƒ

You have changed my mindset..the changing weather is a source of fascination but not keen on mist. We get it from the sea and the apple blossom won't set. This means a poor apple crop. Love the photo tho.

CanuckAnon profile image
CanuckAnon in reply to

So does your air smell salty, apple blossoms, turfy or earthen smells?

in reply to CanuckAnon

When the apple trees are in blossom they are white with pink buds the smell is fresh the grass may be soggy if it has rained. You would love our country with raining cats tails and streaks. We have dark thunderous clouds green sea and rollers. We stay in rather than drive to a storm . We must be getting older.

I'm sorry and perhaps I'm the only one but, in the interest of transparency and sharing my true feelings, like everyone should do in this forum, the smiley faces are immensely irritating as is the "get outside" whimsical crock of donkey excrement. Nevertheless, good for you that this helps, I only wish I had that level of appreciation and denial.

CanuckAnon profile image
CanuckAnon in reply to RCCOLA

Thank you for sharing. ๐Ÿ™‚ I am sorry you find smiley faces irritating but considering text does not allow for inflection or tone of voice to be conveyed clearly I find emoticons or emojis allows this to be accomplished.

In the spirit of full transparency and all i think you can be honest without purposeful malice about a method that I and many others utilize to distract and change our mindset from negative to positive. If you think the motivational inspired messaging to be what was that โ€œknowledge nuggetโ€ you implored?!? Oh yes crock of donkey excrement and lack appreciation & denial of everyone๐Ÿ™„those that live in glass houses and all that apparently are not judgemental, have compassion, want to help people.... what a wonderful island this is... your bio is quite explicitly descriptive but perhaps pretty much like your own knowledge nugget? Ya know eh? The cart full of the byproduct of a donkey who eats oats and hay? ๐Ÿ’ฉ

I can be supportive to you and excuse your mean spirited petty rude unsupportive negative and just downright douchecanoe blurting because unlike you I aspire to lead the most remarkable positive and full life possible. I find joy in simple things because they are the most meaningful, daily accomplishments I achieve everyday I am experiencing reduced pain are milestones for me. I appreciate every moment now as I spent too long in the dark pit of my own making. Itโ€™s too bad you canโ€™t see what freedom look likes thru my eyes... itโ€™s really sad you are unable to see what positivity looks like as you are blinded in your own denial that you are projecting onto everyone here trying to make us doubt our positive vibes... that is cruel and such a 180 again to your bio and the entire premise of this site you know the island?! I am sorry you feel this way... guess my walk in the fog or horse ride thru the fog does not compare to an unremarkable jog alone iyo.

Guess the air in your world smells pretty sour, sulphurous, malodorous and pretty damp...๐Ÿ˜•๐Ÿคจ

I really hope you feel happier soon - perhaps since everything I have listed does not work for u although I doubt you have tried it (armchair critic) how about you share your method .... being that you are an expert at helping people and not judgemental at all ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ˜

Please do explain with clarity how I and everyone else is in denial... ๐Ÿคจ

Btw have a wonderful day/night๐Ÿ˜Š

Smilies might seem mundane and annoying but many people like to communicate in shorthand . Facial expressions in emojis express our moods and are shortcut methods if we don't want to write. Guess when you start a post people will respond differently as they can understand how you feel and smilies may be inappropriate. Will look out for your posts.

Hey, if people like that, and they obviously do, good for them. I'm just not one of them.

Yes it's just when you write a post you won't get them

How are they in denial?
