I’ve had 3 great nights sleep with no anxiety and I’ve just woke up at 3 am and my heart’s racing, I can feel the anxiety just waiting to take over, so I’ve come straight here to write a blog to distract my mind. I’ve put the tv on and as I’m writing the heartbeat seems to be calming down, I wonder if I can get something for this like when an asthma sufferer gets an attack they have a inhaler to help them breathe normally, I’m up for work in a couple of hours and I’ve been asleep for maybe 4 hours so it looks like I’m gonna have a long day, I don’t think anyone will even bother replying to me, nevertheless I’m not gonna give in

Distraction is the thing I do when I start feeling panicky or anxious, it’s a good thing.
I don’t fight it I acknowledge I’m having a panic attack or feeling deeply anxious and distract myself , sometimes I come along here and reply to posts or write a post 😊 or watch tv, same as you have done, some people say they do breathing exercises too, deep breaths definitely helps, and meditation helps too, listening to a voice , keep bringing your mind back when it wanders into the worry thoughts mode..meditation videos help me go to sleep, I could go without them, there are lots on you tube, to choose from. I think we all find ways that suit us to help us...the meditation gets me to sleep and if I wake up I put it on again and keep listening...
Will attach one here , there are loads to choose from on you tube, I vary them . Takes a bit of getting used to but listening to a voice helps me..my mind wanders often but I just keep bringing it back to hear what is being said on the video 😊
