I Think Too Much and Need a Break

Hi, everyone. I'm a very intellectual person and spend a lot of time thinking, researching, ruminating, and asking very deep scientific, philosophical, spiritual, psychological, and ethical questions. The problem is, I often find myself thinking to the point of stressing out and can't get over my obsessive thoughts. Is there an activity I can do that doesn't involve so much thinking? Like what do you do for fun? My "fun" is researching, reading, writing, and other things that involve deep thinking, but what could I do for fun to get a break from this? I'm not a big party person (too draining); I don't drink; and I don't have a lot of money to spend, just to give an idea of what options are off the table.

I am very much the same although lacking in finances. I have my own library, with extensive publications in travel, history and geography. We have a large garden and orchard where we grow various forms of fruit, We also like travelling and visit many historic houses, castles etc, also we enjoy visiting Museums etc.

My hobbies including various sites here are varied. So I spend most of my days on You Tube and reading, or taking the dog out for various walks.

It all depends what you enjoy, sometimes just watching television or listening to music is a pleasant interlude.

My problem is I have a Congenital Short Term Memory Disorder so I forget what I did next day, so be thankful you can enjoy the activities you partake in.

It may sound silly, but I actually play games on my phone. There are so many games to choose from in the game store whether you have Android or iPhone. I would check it out and see what types you like. Also there are apps within there were for reading or listening to music.

There are also adult coloring books you can check into... very nice intriguing things you can color using markers, coloring pencils, crayons etc.

Hello fellow soul! Hehe. I also play games on my phone. I've been playing this current one for 5-6 years.Adult coloring books are so awesome!! I have a gazillion glitter gel pens and absolutely love how quiet and relaxing it is.

After doing these for years I discovered 5D diamond painting. It's at the top of my favorites list.

I'm sorry that I'm slow to responding to your response to me. What is 5D diamond painting? That sounds like fun.

Have you tried watching reality TV? That usually helps me switch off and wind down from the day as it definitely doesn’t require any thinking

Any kind of exercise works for me. A walk, hike, bike ride, a park. Anything outdoors focusing on nature.

I think watching television and listening to music can help you. :) Playing games on your phone can help too. :)
