Developing phobias

I haven't been surprised to see that i have been developing some fears and phobiad after my anxiety and panic disorder journey started , from example i never had a serious phobia from heighte , but recently i started to notice me feeling always tense when i see or even think of heights , but it didnt bother me alot , but slowly its starting to really worry me , sleep problems associated with it ..and i started to get more uncomfortable in my own apartment in the building , ots weird but maybe its due to the triggering post i read a few days ago but it mostly started before , i just feel really worried about it

I am getting alot of scary thoughts so i appreciate anyone's reassurance if possible it's really needed at this point, my first therapy appointment is in a week so i can't wait but in the mean time i want to have peace

Hi Kevin160 ~ I don't know if this will help you or not, it's something I'm dealing with as well, as I get older. But I happened to mention it in a small fashion to a technician while getting an MRI back about 2 years ago and one thing they mentioned to me was that it was actually very common for us to start getting some types of phobias as we age, including things like being agoraphobic or claustrophobic as examples, saying it was very normal to feel these new fears. But of course there was no discussion on the debilitating effects of these phobias and how they can traumatize your day to day life! And I live by myself now, being a widow for 3 years now and I have Lupus as well as frontal lobe brain damage from a car accident 4 years before, so taking care of myself and a home has become quite a chore for me without any assistance from someone else who has normal common sense, no depression or anxiety and can push me to do things when it's needed! But hey, life isn't perfect and we're just one creature in this whole scheme of things, so all you can do is what you think is your best & you can't be responsible for anyone else. There are plenty of people out there who are making a difference out there in our world, to make our planet a better place; you just have to look for it!

The news focuses on the negative aspects if you hadn't noticed and doesn't report on the more full and abundant, rewarding & positive news that the world really should be focusing on. Maybe that's why we have so many depressed people on our planet & that needs to be fixed! But you can fix what YOU focus on for yourself! Put more positive things in front of you and less of the negative & you'll find yourself feeling more uplifted. It's not living in a bubble, it's just deciding not to overload your mind with so much bleak! And what's wrong with that??! I find it very uplifting for me in that respect! Too bad it just doesn't fix everything! It's a great start tho! Hopefully some of what I've suggested can or will help you out at sometime in the near future! Good luck to ya!

This did bring me to a better place and i really appreciate your help , i was too caught up on the bad side of things, overthinking about the the smallest things and also being very superstitious..i will try to focus on good news from now on more , and i will try to be happier
