I have an upcoming trip next month that is filling me with a bit of dread. Why? a long flight and going to California where all I can think about is earthquakes. I'm trying to interrupt my anxiety with gratitude. I'm blessed to have this opportunity. But the dread creeps in. I may write myself a letter when I am in a good place, to refer to on my trip. Thanks for "listening "....wishing you all a blessed day and peace in your heart π

Hi MakingProgress7, it sounds like you have a plan in mind in writing yourself a letter to refer to on your trip. Putting our fears aside can allow us to relish an opportunity that may only come once in a lifetime. Please keep us updated on your progress. Stay focused on the positive side of this trip. I wish you well. xx
thank you so much Agora1! I certainly will try and stay focused on the positive side of the trip. Your words mean a lot and I appreciate your support!!! β
If you are afraid of flying try taking a tranquilizer. Diazapam is good for this purpose. As to earthquakes, they are quite rare, even in California. The law of averages is quite likely to keep you safe. That is, how likely is it that you will be in the one exact spot that an earthquake hits at the exact moment it occurs. It is not at all likely.
Couldn't agree more! No amount of positivity can get though to me when I'm in a state of panic. Gimme the meds and wash them down with a good old fashioned dose of logic and reason! Get googling those statistics π€
thank you b1b1b1! I am going to remember those words and I know they will help....sometimes I just need some facts to get me out of my irrational thinking. Yes, my doctor does prescribe me with ativan when I fly and I find it very helpful. I appreciate your response, thanks again!
