Hello One and All and Happy New Year!
I hope all is well and I hope you all will achieve positive things for this year. Today, I would like to share what happened to me back in November 2019 at work.
On November 24, I went to work as usual and as I walked in, I saw 3 Sam's Club workers standing by a register looking at me as if I had snot running down my face and then that's when my anxiety attack started. My face was feeling hot, I felt shaky in my legs when I was walking and I asked myself, "WTF are they looking at me for?" as I approached the vending machine to get a bottle of water before I went in the back to start my work day. As I left, I grumbled something to myself and they felt triggered so one of the managers came up to the 3 and asked them what happened. I walked back because I thought he wanted to ask me what happened. He caught up to me while I was walking and I told them what happened. Then he said that he would "deal with me", whatever that meant. As I went to the back, my supervisor called me into the office. I told her what happened. She knows that I have anxiety and depression. However, the Sam's Club manager found my mental health condition as "unacceptable and hostile". So, I was suspended from work for the day until further notice. A few hours later when I got back home, I got a phone call from the district manager and she told me that she will investigate what happened and she will let me know what will happen from there. About 2 days later, I was told that I was let go from job because of my anxiety attack. I felt so discouraged and hurt that because of my mental health conditions I was let go. I couldn't believe it at all.
Have you guys ever had an anxiety attack at work? If so, what have you done? Let me know.
