In 2008 I got swine flu, it left me with many disabilities and illnesses. I fought to keep working, In 2014 I was sacked by an employer for not being able to call in sick after being taken into hospital after I was forced to do a zero hour contract job until I got the job where I now work. I was forced to cut a five day week down to three. I applied for ESA and expected to not get it, but I did. I provided everything the DWP wanted and for 18 months received the important top up of money. In August 2019 it was suspended and no matter what I tried no one would tell me what I'd done wrong. In October I received a letter saying that I was required to attend an interview under caution.

No one will tell me what I've done, they have told me that I am not allowed to have my carer in with me, no solicitors will help me. The person from the DWP, who is always nasty on the phone with me said she will only respond to a solicitors letter. I'm quickly becoming in financial difficulties and in serious debt unable to make payments only able to pay rent and basic bills, losing this money is driving me to the edge.

Where can I get a solicitor who might help me?

What would a basic letter asking what I've done wrong cost me?

Where can I go for help, I've been to the CAB?

My mental health is suffering and so are my disabilities. I'm suffering from major flare-ups. Please help, someone because I am at an end and afraid of what I might do.

I live alone and since becoming disabled have lost all my friends and family.

Please help.

My wife works for an attorney. I needed legal help, so I drafted my own letter using wording from the internet.

If you do the same,it will likely be pretty easy to get the signature you need.

In the states we have lawyers who represent people with disabilities "pro Bono". Free.. I think you should do further investigation on the Web

It's hard because Google always returns results based on how much they make, but it can be done!

I bet you will find the help you need.

They will only communicate with a solicitor address

I'm sure you will get much better advice from someone familiar with your country. But don't despair, you want to be at your best when navigating difficult seas.

Try CAB they may be able to help and give advise, in the UK

Please don't be worried as this doesn't mean you have done anything wrong. I used to work for the DWP and they often just pick claimants at random to do these. If you have not done anything wrong then you have nothing to fear.

Go to the interview but do take a friend with you for support. Once you have been cleared you should receive back payments in full. x

The woman from the DWP told me I would not be able to bring anyone and they will appoint a witness. I can't meet this person prior to the interview.

Oh just thought, many solicitors do a free legal half hour so seek out one who deals with these types of issues. x

Solicitors don't want to get involved in none criminal cases with the DWP on the free half hour advice. As soon as I mention I need a letter they change and start talking about cost. I've spent the majority of my savings and no ESA means I have no budget for a solicitor.

You don't need a solicitors letter and this isn't included under the free half hour. What you need to have is information ie what your rights are and so on. So go back and ask for this.
