Im on vacation starting tomorrow so I plan to clean and organize, even though I dont feel like it. Ive been doing little by little when I feel sadness or anxiety coming on. Ive felt so terrible the past month, ive gotten quite a bit done because I forced myself to get up and occupy my hands and mind. And then I lay back down and do nothing for hours 😟😔

Sounds like my strategy. Trying to fold clothes and it seems my husband always has new clothes. If he runs out of clean clothes instead of doing laundry he just buys more for me to wash. No wonder it never wnds

Try doing just little bits each day, you will gain confidence as you see a clean uncluttered house.

Personally when I think about it we are just the same here. Our dog loves tearing tissues and He mugs us to get them out of our pockets, it really clutters the floor and we get to the stage to leave the pieces and clean up later. The same with dishes, no dishwasher, a small kitchen dishes pile up during the day and space to work in the kitchen becomes less and less until our mood changes and we clear up the dishes and any bits of fruit and veg are taken to the compost heap, so you are not alone

I once put all my dishes outside and hosed them off. I put them in the shower once. I’ve also washed my clothes while on my body then threw them in the dryer. Hey, nobody died. I taught the 6 kids I had at my house at the time how to do it too.

To get caught up I’ll eat yogurt but drop my laundry off to be done.

My grandma taught me to take a wet rag on each foot and basically ski the floors. Takes 5 minutes to do the kitchen floor.

All this helps you stay heart healthy. It helps you burn calories.

You want to get thinner. Take a walk outside around your house every time you eat something. Just one time around will tell your metabolism to burn calories.

You don’t suck. You as a person just want some fun ways to do the boring stuff in life.

I promise you’ll have fun washing dishes with a hose or your clothes in the shower until you get caught up.

Thanks everyone. I did get some stuff done. A load of laundry dishes put up some other laundry I never folded. Not completely done and house still a minefield but I guess it’s something. Just still feel very loser-ish

I’m a card carrying member of that club too. It’s so hard to get motivated some days. Add that I hate housework - so mind-numbingly boring ☹️

I agree with the others - do a little each day, otherwise it can be overwhelming. One bit of the cookie at a time 🍪

This is me. I'm now dealing with perimenopause as well as my regular mental health stuff. The weight gain/no clothing thing is the worst. I can live with the house. Thank you for speaking up and to everyone who chimed in.
