Effexor

Hi. I was on Effexor 75mg. My doctor raised me to 150mg. Was hoping someone could tell me about how long it took them to notice a difference. I feel terrible and am hoping it helps quickly. Thank you.

Since you already have a lower dose of Effexor onboard, I'd give it a couple of weeks to absorb into your blood stream and get to your brain. I have a lot of experience with 150mg Effexor.

Effexor just became inefffective since I have treatment resistant depression - I changed to a combination of drugs that work for me.

Hi. I didn't have good control of my depression on Effexor; however, that doesn't mean you won't begin feeling better! Someone else left good advice when they said it may take up to 4-6 weeks for a full effect to occur. That feels like forever when you're suffering, I know! Hope you get the best response really soon! Just keep your practitioner up-to-date. I've been under care for depression and anxiety for 30 years! And, I've had to change my medications over the years.

May I ask, over those 30 years, how do you get through the difficult times when you are waiting for meds to work? It feels like absolute torture. Like I am watching my life on the outside.

I take that. It works for me. Your doc is probably trying to work you up to a level that helps you. Try to be patient. As has been said before, medications and their effects are so individual and there’s are no pat answers. You are and everyone is a totally unique individual. Best wishes.
