Some people love it. We all have different chemistries. I wouldn’t stop it unless your doctor tells you to.

Look. My Mom Had SERIOUS Nerve Problems & They Put Her On EFFEXOR. Suddenly She Changed. [ I Am Being Up Front With You & NOT Trying To Make You Fear or/ Be Afraid. Different Medications Have Different Effects On People ] Lets Make This Story Short If I Can. My Mom Tried To Commit Suicide 7 Times In The 8 Months When They Had Her On This Medication. It Was HELL For Us All. They Gave Her Shock Treatments & Everything But Would NOT Change The Effexor !* I Even Said " Could It Be This New Drug ? " I Was Ignored. [ at that time effexor was brand new ]. FINALLY After 8 Months Of Shear Hell. He Took Her OFF Of The Med Effexor. 4 To 5 Weeks Later ? She Was Back. She NEVER Tried To Commit Suicide Again... Another Incident I Had Dealing With This Drug Was My Wife. Me & My Wife Where Separated At The Time & She Was Staying With Her Mother. Her Mom Called & Told Me She Had Been Dealing With Depression. She Asked Would I Take Her In For A Few Weeks To Give Her A Break. I Said SURE !*... I Get My Wife Back Home & WOW !* She Was Just Talking Outa Her Head !* I Mean Off The Wall Space Cadet Stuff. One Morning She Asked Me To Hand Her One Of Her Pills & What Do You Think It Was ? Yep ! "Effexor" !* [ for depression ? ]... I Called My Mother In Law & Said, "This Is The Medication My Mom Was On That Caused Her To Be Suicidal !"... I Said This Is Just WRONG !* She Said She'd Call That Doctor Immediately & I Told Her I'd FLUSH Them ! I DID !*...They Changed Her Med & She Came Out Of It & Was Just Fine.

I Don't Mean To Scare You. I Had To Be Up Front With Ya. It Must Work Fine For Some People Because They Still Make & Prescribe It ?

Me ? Personally ? [ now this is just Me, Mr. Anxiety too ] I'd Say NO. They Make More Than Just That...

Plus If "YOU" Really "Fear" Taking It ? It May Not Be A Good Idea. Why ? Because The Fear Of An Intrusive Thought Can Trigger Intrusive Thoughts.... If You've Taken Some ? Make SURE You Don't Just Stop. See Your Doctor SOON. Let Him Handle It.

I was on Effexor for 10 years. Smallest dose. Long story, but had to come off it last year. I tapered too quickly and I have been in acute withdrawal ever since. It us one of the hardest to come off of.

effexor is really good if you have goals it really helps you get motivation and clarity.

Unfortunately the high doses make you have homicidal thoughts and make you high if you're bipolar.
