Can having a stroke and an anxiety attack feel the same? I'm beginning to think what the doctors thought was a TIA stroke a couple years back was really an anxiety attack.

Question
Do you remember what the symptoms were?
tingling sensation in feet, arms, hands... tunnel vision... light-headed
That sounds like a vasovagal response. Did they do a workup for the tia?
Yes - they kept me overnight and I never showed signs of further symptoms. The were mostly concerned with my blood pressure... it was very high when I came in. I was released 30 hours later.
I see. If you blood pressure was greater than 180, it’s usually not caused by anxiety or pain alone. You should check to see if you got any mri or vessel imaging. A tia by definition won’t show up on a mri. It’s a diagnosis of exclusion. I’d see a doctor to stratify your stroke risk and see if you need meds or if you’re good to go.
I can tell you that I also have anxiety and did have a stroke 2 years ago - symptoms were tingling in arm - disoriented speech and very high BP
Strike didn’t show on CT scan but showed on MRI - did you have a cardio workup when you were released ?
Possibly anxiety for sure! Anxiety can really raise your blood pressure as well and the symptoms you describe are consistent with anxiety!
I've never had a stroke, I guess so? If your doctor thought you we're having one? You keep stressing you can have One?
I had what was called 2 functional stroke even had the right side facial droop and the doctors said it was stress and put me under umbrella term for functional neurological disorder. All tests came back normal. I don’t agree with diagnosis
